... remember I was trying to build one for my kids.... they need an upgrade.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3 Ghz
BioStar G31-M7 Motherboard
2 x 1 Gb DDR2 667
Sapphire HD3450 256 Mb DDR2 PCI Express Card
Sony 20x DVD Writer
550W Power Supply

all for R3750.00

I know some of the parts are cheapish... but it is just for the kids games. Not cutting edge.

I added my 2 x 320 Gb Seagate SATA drives.

Installing Windows XP Pro now.

don't get a biostar, trust me!

on paper they are good motherboards, and for that price? Eish - a bargain! I bought an SLI Mobo for R600!

...untill you use it for a few months and it starts giving bluescreens left right and centre, and has multiple problems with hard drives, in different configs.

trust me, get sumthing else!

Gigabyt Mobo
Bought +- 2 years ago
1 PciExpress 4X
10/100 LAN
2 SATA Ports
2 x DDR2 Slots

Biostart NV4SLI Mobo
Bought a few months ago
2 PCI Express 16X
1GB LAN
4 SATA Ports
4 x DDR2 Slots

I have a PCI Express card that NEEDS 16X, I have 4 HDD's, and I NEED 1GB LAN, and I have 4 DDR2 Chips to make 2GB (4x512MB)

guess which bourd I use? .....the Gigabyte. LOL, trust me, get something else!

(basically, i'm rather using 4X PciExpress, 10/100 LAN, 2 HDD's at a time and having to leave 1GB DDR2 RAM in my cupboard because it's better....LOL)

Why that seems like a great price for that pc, considering the e8400 is like 1.8k.

I doubt that biostar mobo was that expensive.

what sli mobo did you buy for bucks keeper? It was either second hand or AMD based.

brand new, for Intel. and it just came out! (Know a guy at comstar, biostar distributers)

will submit a pic in a minute, cause i have it here by me (remember, I went so low as to try getting my 1TB drive to work on the biostar, doing the whole transplant, as it is a newer mobo) - what happend? the biostar didn't pick up any HDD's - thats when the **** hit the fan.

hehe... well at this price I can just get another one in six months.... if something goes wrong. Would have preferred a Gigabyte... but next time I can hand pick it more closely... my connection at the computer shop just chose this one for me. I'll let you know how it runs!

Yup when you hear sli mobo for 600 bucks you know something ain't right.

i was awesome in the start...but after a few months...eish.

it all happend when i installed a *cough* prtedd Windows Vista. After a month it uninstalled itself and sometime after that it just didn't work the same.....

ive heard vista messes with your hdd's, leaving some sort of junk on them, even if uninstalled, which causes the chaos...true?

I've never used a BioStar before so this will be a learning experience. I had an Asrock board die on me recently! :(

Postman its for kids games, i highly doubt you need a good vga card for kids games.

Keeper biostar make good boards man, you just bought a rubbish board man :)

uhh...no. check their site - you can't even download the original mobo drivers off THEIR own site. WTF is that?

wait, my mistake - I couldn't download drivers for the other piece of crap mobo (only crap because it's old though....but atleast it works)

Biostar???????????? No thanks

Rather get a Zotac with Integrated NVidia

Apparently Zotac is a Direct Nvidia partner for Mobos with integrated GPU and Graphic cards.

Micropoint is their importer local distributor

R420.00 incl 1333fsb with 7050 GPU
