How's Tinder these days?

Wow, your post is full of righteous indignation. Sorry to offend you ma'am.

Look, stop pedestalizing women. I didn't mention anything about harassing them or you being entitled to them. If they tell you to buzz off, then buzz off.

Use online dating or approach - whatever works best for you.

Just a question, how did people meet before online dating?

Don't worry about them and what they have. Go and get yours. Or don't and sit on the sidelines being negative. Up to you. In general, you should try to be the best version of yourself, so make sure you're doing that.

Agreed.
So why do people continue to use dating apps? Why not boycott them all? Simon said meeting someone offline seemed like less and less of an option. His parents had met in a chorus a few years after college, but he couldn’t see himself pulling off something similar. “I play volleyball,” he added. “I had somebody on the volleyball team two years ago who I thought was cute, and we’d been playing together for a while.” Simon wanted to ask her out, but ultimately concluded that this would be “incredibly awkward,” even “boorish.”

At first, I wondered whether Simon was being overly genteel, or a little paranoid. But the more people I talked with, the more I came to believe that he was simply describing an emerging cultural reality. “No one approaches anyone in public anymore,” said a teacher in Northern Virginia. “The dating landscape has changed. People are less likely to ask you out in real life now, or even talk to begin with,” said a 28-year-old woman in Los Angeles who volunteered that she had been single for three years.

I'm not your child don't tell me what I can and cant do. I love that you ignore all the points because you have no argument and avoided all questions.

Do you realize that when you put a person in a situation where they need to tell you to "buzz off" you are putting them in an uncomfortable position?

Many ways that don't involve the internet but that doesn't mean that the landscape of dating hasn't changed.

wtf is wrong with you guys?

Meet chicks whichever way you want. There's no right or wrong way ffs
Agreed but the guy comes in telling everyone only a "small percentage pulls" on inet dating, men are chickens and women on inet dating pick you so you are just a sad man.

What absolute kak based on his biased backward thinking.

Reality is instant if you have balls to just go and talk to them.
Which is fine if you're at a hiking meetup or something, but I don't think most people enjoy being approached at the end of the day when they're just trying to get their groceries and go home. For some people the online thing opens the door to a bit more opportunity to meet people than they had before. It's not perfect, but it's also not a mission or huge time cost.

Please go look up the Pareto principle and how it applies to online dating.

In fact, there was an OkCupid study showing this in full affect amongst their demographics.

Look, if online dating works for you, great, keep at it. For me it does not, and I refuse to spend time on it because I got nothing back. There might be others in this situation who could benefit from approaching.

I've had more success with approaching because I'm the kind of person who doesn't want to waste time. I have other qualities that manifest when approaching, that I cannot show women via messaging. Also, I get to skip the queue which a lot of you seem so ardent on keeping to.

You make it seem like approaching a woman is taboo but fail to realize this is ingrained in our biology. It's how we form bonds and relationships.

You also make it seem like I harass women and am unable to read signals that they exhibit. The moment a bit of hesitation or uncomfortable vibes starts manifesting, I apologize and move away. This rarely happens btw and is usually due to them being taken already or overly shy.

How do you read the signals? By approaching. Something online dating will not be able to give to you.

I don't understand how a hike for a first meeting is a good idea. Can I just run away if I don't like her or what?
Probably more like a walk in a public place (park, beach etc.)

It makes sense in theory. I am just thinking of/imagining the actual moment you meet, let's say like on a street corner or whatever, and just start walking and small talking for what 20 mins. It feels very cringe. Maybe it is just me.

Sure, but you guys make it seem I go to the store solely to approach women. o_O

If I'm doing my shopping (or any activity) and I see a woman I'd like to get to know, I will suss out the environment and her overall behaviour. If it's favorable and I won't be placing her in an awkward position, I'll approach.

I think this comes down to the person, and the fact that the technology enables us to do it. We don't avoid talking to people in person anymore because we invented the telephone. There's a place for both, and there's a place for in-person meeting of a potential love interest and online meeting of people too. The argument is not whether one is right or wrong - of course being physically around someone is going to trump only dealing with them online but its still not a reason not to.

I also think its a personality thing. Extroverts are maybe more inclined to want to meet and converse in-person than an introvert who prefers to use the technology to get to know the person a bit and make it more comfortable for that first in-person meeting.

Then there's some people who are just so socially afraid and have such social anxiety that they can only interact online - why should they not benefit from a close or romantic relationship that technology can make possible?

Everyone is different, and so having many options to meet people just makes life better.

Oddly enough I'm introverted, but I'm ballsy. I will do what others won't.

I look at things logically and don't follow social conventions.

We all have qualities that are positive when used in the right context. Some of y'all are too worried about what the people around you think, to actually just do what you want (respectfully of course).

I can't, really do you hear yourself.

Speaking to people is ballsy.....sigh
Not following social conventions......Can I be like you, maybe next time just whip it out manly man, not following conventions and bang your chest saying hooha.

Approaching someone at a club/bar dressed to the nines great stuff, she more than likely wants to be spoken to. Someone shopping at Checkers doesn't its gross.

Yeah, do what everyone else does and approach over loud music and cheap drinks amongst a sausage fest of contenders.

Also, you're a bit weird in sexualizing things, but whatever.

Do you bro, whatever works for you. :)
