HP Compaq NX7300

just need some advice, i have a compaq nx7300 laptop, uninstalled vista installed XP, i have downlaoded all the drivers from the hp website. But now i have a couple of issues, the sound driver doesnt install properly and the usb ports dont detect any device plugged into it.
Checked control panel, device manager, doesnt seem to be any exclamation marks on any of the usb drivers.

please need some urgent help with this!

well i had a laptop like that,what you need to do is try a different driver that laptop like the nx7310

been struggling since i changed the OS, everything works fine except for these 2 components.
