It seems that there are no XP drivers for this laptop, or not all the drivers.

How can HP make a laptop, put VISTA on (and this machine STRUGGLES!!!) and when clients decide to downgrade (I think of it as UPGRADING!) to XP then they tell them, don't do that, we don't support it...

WTF HP!

Make sure of supported software BEFORE buying ?

Here is what I normally do.

1. Download a System information utility. http://www.techsupportalert.com/node/84

2. Run the utility and collect all the chipset information for the CPU, North/South Bridge, LAN controller, GPU, Sound, Camera, Touchpad etc

3. Go to the Chipset manufacturers website (Intel, AMD, Marvell, Realtek, SiL, Conexant etc) and download the respective drivers for the chips identified in your laptop. This is the only way to get the latest drivers as companies like hp etc stop doing driver updates for their products after like 18-24months.
