Thanks, because the sales rep from Esquire told me that I can't use the following Samsung DDR3 1333MHz non ECC desktop memory with that N40L: http://shop.esquire.co.za/ProductDescription.aspx?id=869290I just used the cheapest it works ok
I bought the cheapest they had and it works fine .Thanks, because the sales rep from Esquire told me that I can't use the following Samsung DDR3 1333MHz non ECC desktop memory with that N40L: http://shop.esquire.co.za/ProductDescription.aspx?id=869290
I'm just going to go ahead and buy the N40L with that memory in any case.
Thanks FNfal. I didn't even realise that the N40L comes with 2GB modules, where as the N36L came with 2x 1GB modules.
I just used the cheapest it works ok
Put 2X4Gigs in but for some unknown reason WHS only uses 4 Gigs
No WHS 2011 that is 64 bit32bit OS?
why the hell are people lining it with 8GB Ram?
(which is even more confusing, when they try to save 100 bucks by getting the 210GT instead of the 520GT)
What are you guys using the HP for..... playing Crysis?
Decided to setup openelec (was on ubuntu). Two relatively small issues:
- WOL doesn't work. But it didnt on Ubuntu either. Anyone use this on the microserver? Used to work fine on my P4. Apparently it's OS dependent. I would like the microserver to automatically turn on when accessed like I asuume a NAS does. Also so I can use the Android remote to switch it on.
- The OS doesn't turn off my TV, it just switches off the hdmi output. My laptop is able to put the tv in standby and then bring it back again running Win7 (this is on vga though).
Happy to say that I have cracked it, after installing the HP NIC Driver i still had no luck, however, I noticed another tool on the HP website used for updating the NIC firmware, after downloading and installing the updated firmware, I can now confirm that the server is now responding to WOL packets.
Enabled "allow this device to wake the computer" on the nic and WOL works lekker now. (Win7)
Any suggestions on a cheap way to get an SPDIF output that has support in OpenElec? I have seen some USB sound card suggestions but drivers are always the issue...
