HP ProLiant MicroServer

Still something oddly satisfying controlling my HTPC with a real remote, Logitech Harmony 650 in my case.

I have a button set to start Plex and one to force quit if for some reason it freezes and if i need to type anything I just use my phone.

Hi guys, please help. When transferring data from/to my N40L via my LAN I get a transfer speed of 341kb/s. It is so slow that I cannot even scroll through pictures stored on another device.

MY PC and N40L are both running on Windows 7

Faulty cables/patch cords can cause that. Check the link speeds from each device to your router/switch.

Hi guys, my coach potato(10.z.z.z:8083) stopped working (on Openelec Eden); anyone has experienced this before?

Cables fine. Plug same cable into my other pc, works 100%. Next possibility? Software/drivers perhaps?

I am having a similar problem with max speed on my win 7 machine with a realtek gigabit card only connecting at 10Mbps, while my other win xp machine with the same card, connects at 100Mbps. So if you find a solution, do share :)

Is there anyway to back up my Plex database (Movie Posters, Movie Info ect) to an external drive so that I can format and reinstall my HPMS? I only want to do this as over the last few days, when browsing through menus in Plex and then selecting say TV Shows, I can scroll through all the media but once I select a certain show, it opens the folder to reveal the seasons and starts playing the soundtrack but then freezes - I am then forced to do a hard reboot (not even exiting to desktop with keyboard helps).

I don't know what could cause this problem as it has been running perfect for a while already (3 months +).

If anyone has any other suggestions to try fix this before I reinstall everything, that would be great.

I have a HPMS N40L with 6gigs RAM, GT210 card, running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and only have Plex Media Server and Plex Player installed. The HPMS is connected directly to my TV via HDMI. Nothing else connects to the HPMS.

I don't know about Plex but with XBMC you simply export the database into a single file from the video settings. I've always assumed the two worked similarly so perhaps the options there somewhere...

is anyone streaming from the openelec box to the ps3? im short of hdmi inputs and need an alternative solution.

im currently checking out low profile sound cards or the usb alternative + vga cable to tv.

if anyone has any input/experience please contribute. thanx.

Dudes I recently runned into a small problem with OpenELEC 2.0.. It seems with certain HD MKV (mostly anime, could be codec related...) Xbmc just shows an x on the screen then resets itself... Any suggestions? Maybe a setting in the video settngs or whatever?

When I UPnP it to my Glalaxy Tab the videos work flawless so its not video related...

Thanks

Anyone used this as desktop replacement pc for simple tasks like MS word and general browsing? Haven't used a low powered cpu for a while now, not sure how capable the updated Turion processor is. Buying a micro-server is cheaper it seems than buying the desktop equivalent for simple tasks.

Does XBMC support 10 bit video? Most anime have moved over to hi10P encoding, some players might not have been updated to play hi10P.

@Wolfy: thanks.

Still sceptical to switch to Frodo but ill wait for it to get out of the beta first... Funny thing is even when I go into the anime's folder XBMC also force resets itself... Even tried opening the files from a usb... Same result
