HP ProLiant MicroServer

Luckily the linky doesn't work properly :D

The link works fine once you Americanize yourself. But I promptly re-"Other European Countries"-nized myself once I saw the product in question. Fudzy the problem is that if we see nice stuff that we cannot have ... we want it even more!

Ah crap. Sorry I just went in from a link on another site.

Esquire has a partnership with Antec, don't they? Can they make this happen?

That is a really cool product I will get our Product Manager to conact them in the morning as I also want a few of those for myself.

Graphics Card arrived this morning. (Not bad Kalahari, not bad at all).

Tonight I will attempt to get this thing up and running.

Are the majority of you guys using OpenELEC or Windows? Trying to figure out what will be easier.

Surely I can do WIn 7 and then dual boot with OpenElec later when I want to try that? Or not?

you could probably put win7 on the hard disk and OE on on a flash, then just change boot order between usb/hard disk. then decide later which you prefer. at least that way you don't sit with 2x OS installs on one disk and end up with one taking up space. Unless you are keen on wiping the drive and reinstalling completely when you decide.

Jip. Probably best to do the Win7 install tonight and have something I am familiar with.

Then just Live boot from USB for OE.

Thanks.

The micro server has an internal usb port so you install the full openelec on a fast USB stick and run it from there.

Any idea when Durban will have stock? Is there anyway that Esquire do shipping once payment clears? Unfortunately live in Margate so its 140km to nearest store.

Anybody think the Xbox 360 controller would be good for a media centre?

They seem to go for about R699 locally ... :)

Not too bad, considering. Unless I looked completely wrong, it looks like the remote is included too - so technically remote + receiver + awesomeness included.

Wonder how it gets connected to the PC though - I assume a USB header?

If it's like the old VFD display it's a USB header for the data and a molex for the power.

Awesome! Everything working 100%

Already watched an episode of Dexter.

Can somebody help me with settings so that I can copy stuff from my laptop over to the server for storage (via WiFi). How do I get my laptop to recognize the server and then copy the files over? Or vice versa?

Wifi adapter is working and I am connected to my Wifi internet connection.

EDIT: I'm running OpenELEC because I had a BSOD after my Win 7 installation. Something about my ACPI not being fully compliant. Will fix that later. So sticking to OE for now.
