HP ProLiant MicroServer

Do the microservers have an open USB header? I haven't ever specifically looked for one, so no idea.

Internal usb port on the motherboard...? Yes.

I know about the internal port - I actually mean something more like this:

Awesome! Everything working 100%

Already watched an episode of Dexter.

Can somebody help me with settings so that I can copy stuff from my laptop over to the server for storage (via WiFi). How do I get my laptop to recognize the server and then copy the files over? Or vice versa?

Wifi adapter is working and I am connected to my Wifi internet connection.

EDIT: I'm running OpenELEC because I had a BSOD after my Win 7 installation. Something about my ACPI not being fully compliant. Will fix that later. So sticking to OE for now.

Just make sure everything is turned on under system, settings, system. But should work regardless.

Go to your laptop and hit Windows key+r, enter \\ip.address

Best to create a static up address, in your router if you can or on the server itself.

You can add it as a network drive in Windows as well.

Also checkout yatse if you're on android.

Also wireless is going to kill you with its slowosity...

I currently have a HP running Openelec/XBMC for movies & series, but am looking at getting Netflix.

What's the best solution to get Netflix streaming natively on the HP? Can switch OS if need be.

As far as I can tell you need to run windoze :(
Though when Netflix move off silver light onto html5, things will change

I would just get a Samsung SMART Bluray player and install the NETFLIX app. It works very well and they are relatively cheap.

Not so. As is oft the case with Linux there are ways & means. There's a perfectly serviceable implementation of Silverlight on Linux; I forget what it's called, but I had it working for a few days. But... and it's an annoying but...

The only PC interface for Netflix which gives you surround sound is the Windows 8.1 app. The browser interface only carries stereo sound. :(

The Linux silverlight doesn't support the Netflix drm.
