HP ProLiant MicroServer

I'm trying to install ubuntu 64 bit but unetbootin doesn't seem to be making my usb into a proper boot disk. I've tried it on 2 computers to be sure and nothing. Any other way to convert an ISO into a bootable usb?

Have you tried Rufus = See http://rufus.akeo.ie/

I use it to burn ISO's to USB Sticks. Have not had an instance where it does not support something yet. Also nice because it is a portable app.

I have checked there and they don't have anymore in stock. They do however have Samsung Evo 120gb ssd for R1349.

Yeah, I went past there last week and had the same news. I'm going to Esquire this coming week to buy some. Do you need me to get you some as well?

Thanks for the offer but I will be going there next week.

Does the use of the microserver as a media PC (XBMC or Plex) still require an additional GPU? Trying to sort out the in laws with something, and dont want any hassles with having to add on bits and pieces later on

It does not have any on-board sound, and only VGA out.
I got a Gigabyte GT210 from Takealot for R389 (now R412). Works very well.

HP N54 L setup requirements to do this

Hey HP HTPC experts

So I am looking to get myself a HP N54L but this is what my goal is.

I want to be able to do the following:

Internet + SB + SABNZ + CP + occasionally watching from server with VLC + browsing

Also want to use plex to stream to different TV's

So what would be the best OS and graphics card to use I see most suggest GT610

I see wootware has this in stock now PowerColor AX5450 1GBK3-SHEV2 Go! Green HD5450 1GB DDR3 HDMI V2 64bit PCIE 2.1 (Incl. Low-Profile Bracket) Desktop Graphics Card

I work on Apple but I was able to set up SB + SABNZ + CP with some research and help.

I see loads of people suggest Linux as an OS for these little servers. I have never used Linux so dunno if that is an option also need something user friendly just in case I am not around and the gf needs to watch from the server via vlc.

My end game is to be able to access and stream my media via plex to 2 different TV's possibly simultaneously at times

I dunno if this comes into play but my internet connection is a 4mb line.

Thanks in advance
