OK, so the BIOS update did something to fix the AHCI error.
Thanks morkhans for the update.
Once I updated the BIOS and reset the BIOS to defaults it then booted into windows.
I'm still getting an AHCI error on port 0 (I'm not wondering if it's on the hard drive itself), but at least it boots.

I also installed another of the new Power Supplies into another Microserver and it words perfectly.
So the verdict is - this PSU is the one to get as a replacement...

Thanks Lazylion. I have two of these midgets doing mighty work. Good little blighters, so always good to know where you can source items for them :)

I got back the other and my server has this weird blue/purple light at the HP logo.

I turned it off and back on ... nothing. Dead.

Is anything on this system replaceable at all?

Well, you can try replacing the PSU, hopefully it's just a failed power supply. Read up a bit in the thread to see where to get a replacement PSU.
Or Esquire is selling the Gen-8's on special at the moment...

Thanks - is the power supply just a stand one ?
Or some fancy HP one that'll cost a fortune?

My N54L met Thor. Disks with vital info currently in my old N36L. Will see what's up with the brave little N54L, considering it had a fight with Thor once before and as such got a separate network card. :crying:

Hi Guys

What do these Microservers go for these days?

I have 2 at home that I'm not using.

Dibs when you get an answer!

Edit: I guess it depends on N36/ N40/ N54 as well as whether extra Ram / HDD / Gfx card or not. I sold an N54, 4GB, GT210, Flirc IR reciever, 2TB HDD a few months back at R2.5k
