What's the best method of adding drive bays? I don't use the PCIex slot so I could use it for a SATA / SAS card, just wondered what's the best way of doing this vs upgrading to larger drives and take the loss on the old drives?

Can try one of these from IcyDock - MB994SP-4S, 4x 2.5" HDD in a 1x 5.25" bay, SAS/SATA Hot Swap Backplane RAID cage
It's compact and reasonably priced.

Does anyone know if the Microservers sold by Esquire and PCInt are backed by HP?

I have a low profile video card in my microserver that has audio out via HDMI. I've set up PLEX so that I can use my iPad to sort through my media library and play content on the microserver. Ideally I would like to be able to use the iPad to play music from the microserver over my amplified speakers that have an ordinary headphone jack connector - without my TV being on. (so in other words I can't plug the headphone jack for the speakers into the TV - I need to somehow plug it directly into the microserver).

Since my video card doesn't have a headphone jack out - how can I achieve this? Have thought about getting a USB audio card but am worried the sound quality will be poor.

Thanks!

Have a usb audio out, not an audiophile so can't really comment on audio quality. Especially since it's cheap sennheiser vs tv speakers

USB sound card is your best way forward IMO. Plex for iPad should have the remote feature to control which track your listening to ext.

Struggling to hear voice over background in the last couple openelec releases. Anyone know how to fix/improve.

I'm at the point where I'm going to go to Dion wired and pick up a sound bar.

Picking up an N54L from PCint tomorrow. Motherboard of my N36L gave out, and its out of warranty. Parts quote from HP is R3200 for just the motherboard :wtf:

Anyone knows if PCint takes credit cards + is it walk in and buy or do you need to preorder?
