HP ProLiant MicroServer

Anyone experiencing problems with openelec 3.2.0 and sabnzbd? I cant access sickbeard and couchpotato but it seems as if sabnzb does not start up. This happened a day after installimg 3.2.0 and I cant find a fix for this anywhere.

Hey Guys would I be able to run a extra NIC alongside a graphics card in the N54l? If so, does anybody have recommendations wrt to NICs that work well in the machine?

Yep. The GPU is on the far left and there is a 1x pci-e port to the right so there should be space to put one in.

These work pretty well: http://www.dbg.co.za/product_info.php?products_id=798

EDIT: Sorry, my bad. Forgot that the MS is low profile, that card doesn't come with a LP bracket but the card itself is.

Don't see why not, but if you are already using a graphics card in slot 1, then you will have to use the slot 2 which is a PCI-e 1x wide slot.

I recently moved from openelec to windows 7 and I couldn't be happier. Openelec was fine, but incredibly limiting. And windows 7 without anything but xbmc and a few other little things installed is lightning quick, and I can boot straight into xbmc as well. And it's faster than my openelec installation, although I clearly had some problems with mine. Twice...

That's weird. When I had my MS, OpenElec worked like a charm and was very quick.

So was mine. For a while. Then it slowed down. The skin would reset to confluence with every restart. It refused to cache anything. Refused to connect to the net. And in general just behaved badly. Reinstalled, and everything was fine. For a few months. Then the problems started again.

I've gotta admit, windows 7 is super quick. I'm not one to measure boot times and make a decision on that, but win 7 feels as quick to boot as openelec ever was. I know it's probably a few seconds slower, but that doesn't bother me. The box is on most of the time in any case. Knowing what I know now, having used openelec and been a fan of it for a long time, I'd recommend windows 7 over it...

Out of interest, why do you need another NIC?

Hey Gamer, Im planning to setup a VPN, in order to get Netflix and Hulu on the PS3.

Hey guys, can anyone suggest what RAM modules to get ?

Looking at ordering the N54L mode from Wootware for R1599 but I want to know exactly what RAM modules work well, reading through the various sites and Wikis I get the idea that I have to used ECC ram, but if that's the case it's going to be pricey for 2x4GB modules.

What are you guys running?

I use Kingston Value RAM : non-ECC and very cheap :)

rrh I will look into it... At the moment I'm using my laptops wireless connection to the router and a cable connection to the ps3. Very disappointing results... I'm getting less then 1Mbps on my 2mbps line. Do you guys think a wired connection will improve anything?

Kingston value ram - bought two 8 gig sticks sealed for R450 each from a gentleman on carbonite and works like a charm, the gentleman has a few more sticks left .
