HP ProLiant MicroServer

For the guys with FLIRC devices on XMBC. How do you pause of play for that matter? All I see is the up down left right commands but nothing else really?

Just configure the same buttons you use to control XBMC to various buttons on your remote.

I haven't configured my FLIRC in about six months, but if I remember correctly there is a menu option you have to select and you can map all the various keys from there.

Edit: Choose "full keyboard" from the controllers menu.

Thank you. Will have a look tonight.

Using the remaining PCIe slot for a WiFi card is a waste IMO, rather buy a decent USB dongle if you want to use Wi-Fi

This looks good too:

What's really the use of having a dual gigabit at 4x the price?

The wifi cards are quite expensive, think my little tplink dongle was under R200.
Transfers run at up to 12MB/s if nothing else is hogging the wireless, so a card might get slightly better speeds from its better antennas.

Redundancy? 2Gbit Link? Physical network segregation? But yeah it might be pointless for your intended application. I just wanted to show what cool stuff are available on evilbay :P

anybody know where I can purchase a n54l for a reasonable price (R2k max) from a store that is still open over the Christmas break?

Wootware is closed from today will 6 January.

Running Plex on all 3 of my MicroServers here for a family of 5. No problems whatsoever.

I see my openelec running ms is not showing up as a gigabit connection on my network.
Do I need to make a software change or will it be a hardware issue

iAnyone know where I can find/get 2x N54Ls new ? I tried Esquire but it seems they out of stock and I need to get these before I leave cpt in 2 weeks :( #help

It seems the only online store still open and that has stock is Cybernatic. I ordered one on Friday night. Awaiting confirmation that stock levels on the site (that they have stock) are in fact true before paying over money.

R1699 by the way. Not too bad.

Hi,

I am looking for some help in setting up XBMC (running on openelec), sickbeard, etc correctly on my Microserver. Also want it to sync with my PC so that i can browse and copy file between them.

As a newbie i have tried doing this myself but have really battled so am reaching out in the hope that perhaps somebody can assist and give me the XBMC experience that is possible on my microserver.

Am in the Midrand area so PM if you think you can help.

It's quite simple actually, just follow the steps in the OpenElec Wiki or check this guide.

If you have any issues, give us a shout, there a lot of people here running that setup (myself included)
