HP ProLiant MicroServer

Can I ask why you wanna move away from windows 7?

Openelec is just a lot more streamlined. I have a few problems with the PS3 remote on windows and i know it works 100% with Linux. Plus i just find things run a lot better on linux. I get the odd menu slowdown with Windows where i don't if i run it on Linux. Plus i can put it on a flash drive! :D. Oh and i won't need an anti virus installed :p.

Does anyone know if 3TB drives are supported in the hardware?

Edit: Seems it doesn't, no EFI support :(

Regardign the support for 3tb's , I am aware of a number of guys on the oz and usa forums running hitchi and wd 3tb's in the micro servers.

anyone managed to get hdmi out audio working on the openelec rc1 and 1.1 this far, with my settings on 0.99.5 it works, but using the same settings on 1 and 1.1 I still dont get any audio.

Anyone aware of some additional settings that I need to teak?

Have any one else ordered these HP Proliant MicroServers from BiosOnline yet?

I'm just wondering about the service level from them? I was actually impressed on how fast they responded to my stock inquiry.

Yeah Pada I did last week.

Awesome service from them. Delivered to me by the owner in person the day after I placed order, as there was a misunderstanding in some of our emails regarding delivery.

Thanks kayvee.

Would standard non-ECC DDR3 1333MHz CL9 1.5V memory work in it? I can't find anything in this thread, using the search features, regarding the RAM voltage.

I also got great service from them - quick response to stock inquiry with immediate quote and use of a transparent courier that sent me details of the delivery upfront.

Yes, i.e. Corsair ValueSelect (not sure if it's 1.5v).

Standard DDR3 PC ram works 100%

I put in 2x 4GB Kingston sticks in my NAS

tell me something, what IS making my HP run so slow...

Is it the CPU that is keeping it back? When I navigate it seems to be a bit slow, and sometimes lags when Im browsing in My Computer

Does anyone else have this?

I have 5GB RAM, and a decent gfx card so it must be the CPU?

otherwise Im gonna put a flippin SSD in this thing!!!

What software have you got running on it?

techhead, why not just run Task Manager (Windows) / System Monitor (Ubuntu) and check what is the cause.

I'd guess that the problem has to do with the CPU, or that the web browser does not make use of hardware graphics acceleration.

ok, that makes a lot of sense. its the browser that end up being a snail.
