HP ProLiant MicroServer

Try as I might I could not even get Ubuntu to pick up this receiver. Which OS are you using?

In ubuntu, you need to install a little app called "lirc" - from there, things start to run smoother.

PM me if you need help with a harmony remote, takes quite some config to make it work.

Please post info here, this is the second time people have said the config is tough but mine was easy, what am I missing?

It depends entirely on what sort of config you want, and what media center software you're using. In XBMC it's fairly straightforward, except that you need to config your harmony to an abstract Windows Media Center remote for it to work properly, as well as config lirc to recognise MCE remotes.

Fair enough but both of those took about 30 seconds flat. It took longer to set up event ghost under XP.

The only learning curve was how some of the keys have been mapped, again, no biggy.

Trust me I've been through all that, couldn't pick it up using lsusb though. Maybe I got a dud?

Anyhow, I now have another receiver and the Harmony is arriving any day now. So I'll give you a shout if I run into any issues. Thanks!

I think that you might underestimate some members; Command lines might be nice and comfortable for you or I, but most of the people that I've tried to help out have needed step by step instructions.

( Which might be the root cause of why they have needed help ) - Not everyone has had the time needed to get comfortable around a shell.

Hi guys

This thread has gotten too long to read through has anyone found a network card that fits in the Microserver? I want to use it as a firewall.

Heh it's gotten huge! We should all make an effort and put all the relevant info on the wiki!

We need a couple more posts to get this thread up to 200 pages. Please keep them coming in.
