Just a quick question.

If I have 3.6 activated on my sim.
And if that sim is in my N82 which has HSDPA at 3.6Mb.

Will I be charged higher rates for general packet data use? Ie: Mxit, browsing, general applications use and GPS?

No

The 3.6 Trial if free for 3 months and after that you will pay R49/m if you want to use it. So your data charges remain as is.

It will be treated as a Value Add Service. So my understanding is that a data bundle is not required.

No.

Its available if you have activated it and your handeset/modem supports it.

I think the newspapers ads confused some people as they indicated you need a bundle.

What they tried to say is those with bundles will automatically be provisioned for the service.

Data rates stay whatever they were.

For speeds up to 1.8 (GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA 1.8) there are no extra charges.

For the HSDPA 3.6 service, it's R49 / month.
