Here's a proposal...
Keep the data rates the same for 7.2Mbps, 14.4Mbps and 21Mbps or whatever unachievable speed, but allow me to buy data bundles at a lower price and limit me to 3.6Mbps.
 
Cheaper Data-bundle Prices, PLEASE!

I suppose until we see the WACS (West Coast Cable System), fiber link land and then actually light up:
Vodacom amongst other will continue aiming at unrealistic speeds
and ignore the REAL ISSUE: CHEAPER DATA-BUNDLE PRICES
(at least making data-bundle prices cheaper is realistic and the users will instantly benefit from it.)
 
All this money being thrown at our internet and looks like we still miles away from decent speeds and caps. Will we see 8mb adsl this year or will the testing go on for another year?
 
As far as I am concerned, speed is nice, but is it THAT nice?
Does is really matter if a large file takes 1 minute to download instead of 3? To me is does not!
Value for money is far more important to me.

Instead of aiming at the moon, why not focus on fixing the backhaul and international bandwidth issues so that 3G and HSDPA users can use mobile broadband at speeds higher than a few hundred kilobits per second?
