Both phones are brilliant, but I'm more than happy to take a not-so-perfect DHD. :)

Please tell me where the Desire is perfect and the Desire HD is lacking, would love to know & then I'll be able to make an informed decision.
 
meh, that link was posted ages ago. video issues have already been sorted with OTA updates and battery life is about the same as the D due to the upgraded 45nm Snapdragon Gen 2 Scorpion CPU in the DHD. Techradar has their heads up their a$$es. I just wonder whether we'll get the black one or the brown one in SA.

Motorola Milestone XT720

How about the NEW Motorola Milestone XT720. A2.2, 8MP, HD, GPS + HDMI output (and comes with HDMI cable in the box !). On MTN100 only R199! pm .. R50 less than DHD pm! What2do, What2do...

Told by the tech guy @ Leaf that we will only get the brown.

It's a fugly phone with no HTC Sense . Enough said.
 
And the Bluetooth audio issue? Sorted?
Don't get me wrong, I fell in love with the DHD the 1st time I saw it. I've already made a space next to my pillow for it!
Just phoned MTNSP and they said no, try Wed next week. :(
 
and so we continue waiting ...

Im suspecting we will only see this phone by 16 November.

Android makes more sense with HTC Sense.

with regards to the D vs the DHD

i think its much of a muchness. the D has better pixel density but the DHD has a bigger screen (same res), the D has AMOLED/S-LCD screen and the DHD has (S??)-LCD
 
Went to Lab88 at VodaWorld, Midrand. Guy there told me Desire HD was not available yet, but probably on the 15th Nov. Don't know if that's only if you want to buy it from Lab88 ...

Other places, such as Nashua Mobile, AutoPage etc. didn't have it on their systems yet.

I sincerely hope the delay is not caused by Leaf trying to put their crappy app market on the phones, or brand it with anything Leaf.

What! Leaf don't even have the DHD listed on their website!
