HTC DESIRE HD

Yes Nashua gave me the same story. "Phone back on the 7th"
(Someone told me all Nashua deals (MTN, Vodacom, CellC) run from the 7th to the 6th of the following month).

Wonder if Vodacom will give free data with their DHD contracts?

They might just do that, they've gotten to into a habit of including a 30mb bundle with each contract(even though that will barely say hello, but better than nothing..)

I confirmed several times emphasizing the "HD", and the consultant sounded like he knew what he was talking about. But as well all know, anything is possible with our service providers :)

Still skeptical. Where are the photos of these phone i have been in direct contact with MTNSP everyday. Still no DHD. Anyone got a photo displaying the gps in Sandton is it loaded with TomTom or What???
 
I've had to change the name of the phone so MTN understands it. Its call the HTC A9191. Then the know what I'm talking about
 
I have had my Desire HD for a week now... here are my feelings on the device:
1) The phone is big, much bigger than I expected, bigger than the IPhone by a few mm... That said it still fits comfortably in my hand
2) Response... WOW - coming from the Hero you imediatly feel the response. Boot time is a matter of seconds. All the games and apps seam to work very very well... No complaints.
3) Camera is amazing, went to the bird garden last weekend and caught an eagle mid flight as its about to land, perfect definition, very responsive.
4) Updated photos to Facebook and twitter imediatly
5) A gripe... Picasa just doesnt work, its a known issue, lets hope they fix it soon
6) It took a few minutes to root the device, very simple to do.
7) The SA maps come preloaded... This does not include navigation which can be purchased. No Live traffic yet.

Thanks that will help. I found that pictures also works well for those that cant read, there is a picture of the DHD on page 8 of MTN 's November brochure.

cool...just got off the phone with my local nashua mobile store (east london) n they don't seem to know what's potting...sigh...where is the consistency???

Mine came preloaded with a voucher to upgrade to include navigation (in Hong Kong and Macau). But so far, no luck with getting my phone located anywhere other than the Gulf of Guinea.

I tried every where, MTN is out. Where did you get it?

I'm not entirely sure any sort of proper communication happens between cellphone providers :)

Perhaps try their national upgrades department. They are the ones that helped me:
Upgrades (Renewal of contracts) 011 2078012
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Saturday 8am to 1pm

These are actually very well hidden..
Locations --> Menu --> Upgrade From here you can download Maps, Navigation, Traffic, "Safety Cameras"

And I got my device from Lab88.

hmmm... I also want a voucher :)
 
And I also love the HTC Sense integration. From the internet I can log into my phone, see where it is, lock it down (if it gets stolen), get it to ring at full blast, read my sms's, see my contacts, see my call history, install applications and divert my calls (incase I leave my phone at home).

It also does a "google backup" - so if I wipe / reset my phone it will automatically download all my applications and set my phone up again.
 
i just received my htc desire hd now im gona play all day and i got a 8gb sd card free:D
