HTC DESIRE HD

For those who have managed the impossible and have their DHD's, do you think the screen is as bad as reviews like gsmarena have been giving it? Is it definitely S-LCD or just LCD (not that I believe there is much difference anyway)
 
Just placed an order with Vodacom.
They were expecting stock today at the warehouse, but it has not I arrived yet, but it is till expected today or tomorrow.

Just watched a 30 seconds to Mars video from youtube, that was amazing, the picture quality impeccable. Sound was a little soft, maybe the video.

Battery life is ok, mine came with the second generation battery which has more capacity. Don't have timings yet as I use my phone for bluetooth and gps while driving and keep it on charge most of the time.

Well when you have some time please see how long it lasts with a day of typical usage. This is the main thing that is working on my nerves WRT the phone. Otherwise it's a real consideration for me.

Good grief! Just get an extra charger Zenbaas!

For once and for all, you will NOT get old Nokia 6210 three-week-battery-life with one of these HTC powerhouse phones! Maybe if they find a way to incorporate nuclear power in modern batteries. :)

Do you know of any notebooks/laptops that can go for two days? These phones do the same & have almost the same specs as a netbook. I rest my case.
 
The one thing I can say is that I have never run out of battery. The phone goes into power save mode when the battery gets low.

Will do measurements tomorrow, so I know what to expect.

Thanks man. Pretty much browsing (ie. quite a bit of internet usage, GPS, etc.) and other normal tasks. I just want a first hand account of how the battery performs for the most part :)

Chillax :D I have no issue with charging every night BUT I want the phone to be able to withstand at least ONE days worth of "heavy" usage without me running out of power. I won't always have access to a charger during the day so this is a rather pressing issue for me. I know going to this will be hell for me considering I get almost 5 days of battery life out of my Nokia 5800 on a full charge with moderate use. So having to charge during the day is NOT an option. (And no, I don't feel like lugging around an extra battery, unless I'm hiking in some remote location ;))
 
Hi guys I'm on my new phone and my response wow its so fast yet so fluid all I can say I'm blown away,I was watching asphalt game on youtube that got my blood going then the courier came and gave me my phone. Good luck guys.

So glad you finally got your phone! So it was definitely worth the wait. :)

Nobody wants to answer my question....how is the screen quality?

I think it all will depend if you're a heavy user or not. I've read on other forums that average users manage more than a day with the Desire HD. Average = listening to music for two hours, make a few calls, sending sms'es and half an hour on the web.

With any new phone you gonna play a lot, so I'm not bargaining on a battery that's gonna last very long. :)
 
ahhh I can't wait to get my phone!

This is so cool, If MTN does not get it by next week, then I will go to vodacom!
 
Where are the photo's????? Not a single photo of the S.A version of the DHD!!! as soon as i get my phone i WILL paste a screen shot or something to PROVE that i have the phone.
 
oh yeh can someone confirm if we got the black or brown?
 
hmmm do u think the advent of fusion tech would change the batt life of our cell phones :}
