I totally agree with this... and to think I almost got myself one.
Having a GPS on your phone is quite useful. But at an extra R700 with an already expensive phone? No thank you...
 
Their whole service sucks,I think its LEAF that sells them.
Friend of mine sent one phone in for repairs,she fell of a horse and needed the housing replaced.

Came back from LEAF as unrepairable.WATER damage due to sweat.

Im mean jeez cant u even sweat without the phone going bust,even though it wasnt the original problem.If so what type of product are LEAF selling?
 
A friend of mine's screen broke (didn't drop it or anything, the sliding action was messed) and now the screen's giving these lines across the images. They are refusing to fix it, saying it is "water damage"... it's never even been close to sweat, not to mention water....

mmm Sounds to me like a "get out of jail card" LEAF uses.

Probaly if u dropped ure phone in the desert it would be "WATER DAMAGE"
 
I need to have the screen on my Touch replaced, it cracked due to tile damage. Beware shallow pockets and tiled floors. Hopefully 'tile damage' isn't on the list of get-out-of-jail-free cards.
 
It seems all of the mobile-phone companies are using water damage as a first resort to service....
 
When I got my tytn2, there was a little glossy card in the box that told me where to go and download my free navigation software... Okay, it wasn't built in - it communicates with the server now and then - doesn't use much traffic, but it's still free navigation software - Leaf Locate - and it's actually pretty damn good I have to say.

So everyone comes off looking dumb here - the chap lodging the complaint for not seeing the glossy thing in the box, Leaf for not pointing it out, and ASASA for taking some idiot consumer at his word.
 
Does this mean i can take my 5 month old tytnII back and get a new phone ???

My Htc TyTN II did not come with this card. It must have been added later to the packaging.
Good thing I know a thing or 2 about the internet and download my own GPS software.

Doubt it, I got on the waiting list for VSP when it came out and mine got delivered with their first consignment. Maybe it's something Vodacom put in?

Good thing I know a thing or 2 about the internet and download my own GPS software.

Yes... from now they should just put in a little card with the URL of a torrent with the latest tomtom or garmin + crack.
 
Man, am I glad I got the HP iPAQ 614c which really does have built-in GPS!

And to think, I only had to pay R5000.00 for it! :p
 
The tytn that I have also came with a glossy card which only gives 30% discount on Mobile Navigator 6.The packaging is misleading and the phone is not that great at all.It hangs frequently and the battery life is very poor.

What software did that come installed with? From what I see, it just comes with google maps? The problem here isnt whether the tytn2 comes with GPS - it does - I think the chap who complained expected to get some tomtom or garmin type software free with it (Which you do, he just couldnt use the googles or the interwebs it seems).

The Free Leaf Locate software that comes with the tytn2 is vastly superior to google maps, which are pretty much useless in za.

Erm no...Leaf Locate is like Google maps crap that iPhone one uses, its crap location service type things... compared to the GPS using real software it blows. I got the phone buy refused to pay the R1000 for the Navigon software...got some, erm...trial software that works better than the R5000 Garmins out there.

aah, I see! Yes it does only come with Google Maps.

The thing is, when I got my phone it was a R8000+ phone...I mean, wtf, you speand that amount on a phone and then still need to buy the software, when at half the price the BB Curve has the software for free...

And about your request...maybe ;)
 
Okay- i read and felt your posts. I was planning to buy myself an HTC S730 but im a bit sceptical. Im already rude, im allergic to dealing with rude customer service.


Should i buy the device or should i wait for the iPhone?
