I returned my HTC Dream becasue the battery life was pathetic. I received a replacement and it seems like the battery life on this phone isn't that grand either.

The other problem I'm having with this handset is that the accelerometer is not working well. I noticed this when playing the Teeter game. It seems like it is not calibrated properly or something, because the ball movement is way out on left and right. Up and down seems okay.

Is there a way to calibrate the accelerometer?

It should be the same as the diamond. In which case:

Start>Settings
Systems Tab
G-sensor
Calibrate

Or is that the wrong thing?

it indeed does, but for the life of me i cant find it now. ive bumped into it a couple times.

in regards your batt life. remember this phone is connect to the net ALL the time unless you tell it not too. it is constantly updating mail, chat, location etc. its live all the time and it IS using the batt. Turn off the google services etc if you want a week of batt life.

I tried that out and it makes a slight difference but I'll see how it goes with this new handset. I contacted Leaf and they said that I should bring the phone in for them to check out the accelerometer problem

turn off wifi and particularly GPS. GPS gobbles battery life. Also, have you got the new ROM with the Android Market? If you just have the Open Market then go to Leaf.co.za and upgrade. Battery life is better with the new ROM
