The primary cam is 4upit uses a different imaging technology that deemphasizes megapixel count in favour of 'ultrapixels' which have a larger light exposure. Photo samples look great so far.
Nonsense, it's cribbing heavily from Apple's stylesheet, particularly in the upper and lower bezel and the use of aluminum with chamfered edges. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but we can't ignore the elephant in the room.
Ok Jstrike.
Apple should also sue HTC for reducing the number of home buttons to a single one.
Just want to tell you this since you're a rep and might say this to the right people. You know what kills HTC sales? Firmware support, HTC simply leaves their users on old Android versions and expect them to buy the new HTC with the newer version. Problem is people will only get bitten so many times before they buy something else like Samsung seeing as their support is better.
I own two HTC devices at the moment the newest of the two being the Sensation. Now the Sensation was the direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S2. So prior to the recent S3 and One X these were the flagship devices for the two companies.
Guess which company rolled out ICS and Jellybean and who didn't, guess who had a locked bootloader and who didn't? Samsung supported their device, HTC told their customers to jump off a bridge.
Now as a guy who's owned about 4 HTC devices in total, I feel that HTC can go jump off a bridge next time I go shopping I will buy Samsung or the Nexus device or whom ever supports their product and respects their customers. How do you turn loyal customers away? Ask HTC, "quietly" stupid
Just so you know in the US the flagship device HTC One X(dual core version) doesn't have Jellybean. HTC One S yep you guessed it no jellybean. These devices were literally launched the other day and they're flagship devices.
Maybe HTC (and everyone else for that matter) should start making all their phones just look like a nondescript rectangle, with plain straight edges and 90 degree corners. And make them in wacky colours, anything other than black, white or silver. That way the iTards and other OCD fashionistas who care so very much about tiny details like corners will have nothing to whine about.
Of course, then McBat****Goalz will be the one complaining about everyone copying Nokia... :erm:
Awesome awesome AWESOME phone!
Am I the only one who thinks they're almost pulling a Windows Mobile 8 move with the tiles though?
One of your Android fan boys was the one that claimed it looked like an iPhone5...
Maybe you can just ignore the blatant facts but it's clear as day to me. I never said Apple should sue; I didn't even complain about it. It's just quite obvious that they were ahem *inspired* by the i5. I think it's a great looking phone though with some top-shelf features that Samsung doesn't have. In particular the pixel density is just nuts, and the new camera is highly innovative thinking.Maybe HTC (and everyone else for that matter) should start making all their phones just look like a nondescript rectangle, with plain straight edges and 90 degree corners. The BlinkFeed is going to look more like a Facebook feed than it is Live tiles. There are over 1500 new providers to choose from and you can customise the feed based on your interests. Your social media can also be pulled into the BlinkFeed.
Live Tiles are more like widgets that update.
Hopefully the S4 gets announced soon and we can compare the specs. I'm ready for a new phone and it'll either be this of the S4. Reading Vegta's comments about support, I'm already leaning towards the S4.
After extensive testing, we’ve determined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD. When we consider new versions of software, we weigh a number of factors, but ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers.
In answer to the software upgrade issue on the Desire HD: http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/
As a manufacturer your devices aren't always going to be able to give a better experience on a software upgrade as HTC does not make Android or Windows Phone 8.
Also the roll out of software in South Africa is controlled by the networks. The software has to be signed off by them before it is rolled out. There are many factors at play when it comes to which devices get upgrades and when they roll out.
So basically if Google updates Android, HTC thinks it is better for you if you stay on the old software despite other manufacturers updating older phones to the newest software?

I read that blog and it makes sense that you can't install it with the partitioning but give people a choice. Advanced users could have downloaded the software, partitioned the memory and installed the new software at their own risk. That's HTC's answer on their blog. An S2 is different on a hardware level to a Desire HD. Its like saying Toyota must do with their Corollas what VW does with Polos.
If they released the update and users believed the experience was less than on ICS, they'd potentially take bigger hit as more Desire HD users would be unhappy.
All this noise is distracting from what we really want to know...
When is this hitting the SA market and with which operators?
