HTC One M8 officially revealed

I'm pretty happy with my HTC One and have no real issues with it. It's good to see that they've added Micro SD card support tho. That's one thing I miss.

But I've only had it for 3 months now. Still a long way off before my next upgrade.
 
I have an HTC One Mini. I am happy with it except for the camera. It's one of the worst that I have used on a smartphone, and I am disappointed that tech websites go on and on about the ultra pixel camera. Maybe this new HTC One is better. But once the phone is available locally it maybe a good idea to try out the camera before buying it.

The reviews aren't being kind to this new M8 camera - I think the whole "Ultrapixel" thing is a dead end for HTC. Like so many things, the theory is sound, but it doesn't deliver in practice.
 
Have you guys even read the reviews? This phone is hardly disappointing. The larger battery along with 'ultra power saving mode' is a great step forward among other things. CPU, memory, SD slot.. it's better options on a phone that was great last year.

Best phone of 2014 along with the Z2. Can't wait till the M8 lands in SA - my One X is getting old!

Still the camera is rather disappointing,I like HTC but it baffles me why they continue flogging this dead horse camera.

As for Stamina mode,well Sony has had it from before the xperia z even.

Like hungry beaver I am upgrading my One X in a month and mines till takes awesome photos. As long as the M8 is on par or better than mine I'll be happy. Everything else in the online reviews have been extremely positive. It may not be the giant leap forward but as far as solid goes I think this will do.

What are your thoughts about the bigger size and if it is a problem would you wait for the 'mini'?

Compared them to my GFs S4 and she normally rather uses my phone for pictures at night time. S4 is way worse in for them. Day time pics I can't really see a difference. But then camera quality doesn't bother me. If I wanted super quality pictures I'd get myself a DSLR.....
