They usually release their upgrades list in the second week of the month. According to the person i spoke to in key accounts the phone should be available this month.

But again that might not materialize. Or might only be available on mtn. I should get the price list on Wednesday. I'll hound them then.

My desire is still going strong albeit with a 4 hour battery life.

Desire is narrower and thicker lending itself to more ergonomic shape like any hand operated device (gun, door handle) makes it easier to manipulate.

The HOX is also very thin, like the SII, so thin and wide makes it a little unweildy to be honest. I'm sure I'll get used to it. My hands are average.

With this phone in my pocket I would be worried about banging it against a counter edge or something a little more than the Desire, the large screen may not be quite as forgiving as my desire has been.

I reckon with a case on the handling will improve, it did with my Desire, so at the mo only have an SII screen protector on.

I do find myself using both hands more in day to day operation, make that Day 2 lol.. its early days yet.

HOX is about .9 cm wider than the desire, so i'm fairly sure you will be comfortable with it in a day or two

Its gorilla glass. Don't worry too much about the counter egdes ;)

Don't know how MTN can have this before vodacom... WTF.... Vodacom is usually the best.

Lady from Vodacom just phoned me, cause I filled in a upgrade request on the website on Saturday when my upgrade was due. She told me now as well that they still waiting for the phones and it should only be available at the end of the month.

So it looks like its either a wait, or take something else and be mad about it in a months time...

EDIT: I'm beginning to lean towards the Galaxy Nexus.... ?

Wait for the SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 if only just for the 2100mAH battery. They're making us wait anyway might as well wait a little longer

The nexus is n really nice phone but it's still not the One X :) Cool thing is the software that doesn't really have issues

Nope. Have to say the specs isn't worth the wait.
 
If MTN already has the One X, then Vodacom can't take too long before they get it... I am willing to wait...
 
Don't know if I should go MTN, or wait for Vodacom. Been due for an upgrade for 3months now... I'm going to be pissed if Vodacom only brings it out on Bussiness contract because that contract is useless. Maybe I should just wait until the 17th(Date that MTN special end) and if Vodacom doesn't have it by then I go MTN?????

Gosh I hate MTN!

MTN special running till 31 July (valid for whole Q2) according to the Q2 specials list they sent me.

MTN does not stock the One S, i found a MTN Store in Durban that had 2 one X's in stock, all others don't have, getting it on tomorrow :D

Ahh that sucks! Did anyone perhaps mention if/when they were getting the One S? I'm sure you will love the One X :D

i for one wanted the One S, so them not stocking it was a bummer but MTN have such a good deal right now for the One X, it was a no brainer......plus did i mention my company will pay for my contract if it's with MTN (Was with VC) :P
 
Signed up yesterday, porting from VC today, MTN Fourways Mall have stock of the One X (grey only) and I am picking it up this afternoon. Cant wait :D

I also signed up yesterday with MTN at Fourways mall for the One X! I was worried they wouldn't have stock but looks like it's not a problem there yet. I will hopefully be picking mine up today as well, can't wait.
 
I'm in the opposite boat in that my desire is on mtn and I'd like to port to vodacom and get a one x... Fortunately this bit of a wait for the one x has gotten me through the 24-21mo 3 month waiting period.
