Does anyone know where I could buy the phone cash?

MTN deal is good, and you could use the R200 airtime for data if you're keeping your Voda. It could storm again bra, poles could fall, and Telkom could take longer to fix... :D

Wtf?? How can auto page offer the One X on the vodacom network yet vodacom direct don't even have pricing on it??? MTN and auto page must have paid a load of cash to get exclusivity rights to launch the htc one X.... So frustrated now... Might just have to settle on the xperia S... :(

Porting to MTN... I know I will regret it when Vodacom releases the phone and it is on a Business contract. I just hate that contract of them. Not to mention that Vodacom phones me almost everyday offering me phones to which I can upgrade to(since I am already 3 months due for a upgrade and the want to sign me for 2 years again), and then when I query about the HTC One X they either keep quiet or they "don't believe HTC has a phone called One X"

Cheers Vodacom, Hello One X

Phoned head office and a branch (Cresta) and they can not tell me what color they are offering, huge fail as they are advertising the white one.

No Prob.
Just looking at Autopage now, and they offering the HTC oneX but their deals aren't good. They offering for vodacom as well:

In the picture is it the white version.. I wonder if they really offering the white version though??

Yea that is such a fail. There really needs to be some transparency with these cellular providers and their employees. How do they expect their sales people to sell when they don't even know what new deals are coming the day before, or what products they are offering.

So has anyone got their hands on the gray version? Think I still prefer the white one though. Anyone got any opinions on colour?

Can someone tell me how MTN can afford to sell the HTC One X at R3600 ??? Cash price online is around R7000

Contract is R349 x 24 (including R200 airtime)

so, R149 x 24 = R3576

:wtf:

Because like all other players in the SA mobile phone market they make truckloads of profit out of the consumer, especially on data packages / charges.......

All contract phones are subsidized against the contract profits.

I was really set on getting this phone, practically put in my upgrade.

Alas i have changed my mind and decided to go with the SGS3. The SGS3 doesnt look great at all, but the smaller things have turned me like: micro sd slot, removable battery, the eye tracker that keeps the screen on and at the correct orientation.

This.

Also they hope you will go over the contract amount.

Also people please don't be fooled by the R200 airtime. The Anytime packages have lower call rates as you move up.
EG:
Anytime200 = R200 airtime divided by R2.30 in bundle rate = 87 minutes. Thereafter out of bundle rate of is R2.85

Anytime 350 = R350 airtime / R1.95 = 179 mins. Thereafter R2.35

So if you're porting just be careful about which package you choose. The 350 can cost far less if you using say 150 minutes/month average

I hope this is true, I will see what VodaCom do the moment they release the pricing for the Talk500 package. I had to pay in R1600 for the HTC Desire on the 5th of June 2010. Will be very interesting to see how it will compare. AFAIK the HTC Desire was also launched at around Euro600(citation needed).

UPDATE: It was launced through Amazon for about GBP530!!

UPDATE 2 Seems like this price from GSMArena is more legit, Euro440, so we can expect to pay a bit more.

Thank you very much...quite useful for someone considering to port if VodaCom screw us with their pricing.

One question though...Anyone want to take a guess how the current MTN AnyTime200 offer will change after the 17th? Hope they don't change it too much as I can already see how Voda is gonna klap us here.
