HTC Touch HD Contract

As a side note, I did manage to eventually get through to someone at MTN that said they do have the phone and are testing it. He couldn't give me a time-line, but said it could take up to 3 months ...

Eish I don't feel like waiting three months, I think I'm just gonna get the DIamond.

Don't get the diamond!!! I had one and got rid of it! On paper it beats the Omnia, but once you get your hands on it - the screen's just TOO small... Leaf's got the HD already, so VC and MTN will follow soonish!

Argh I hate waiting. and judging by the iPhone, it's gonna take a while. Besides I don't want a huge phone.

Diamond is not a bad phone, but it really does have a small screen. First company (between VSP and MTNSP) that brings out the HD gets my business

Autopage has a page that lists upgrade prices on the different SP's:
http://www.autopage.co.za/consumer/specialoffers/upgrades

According to the MTN document, they have the Touch HD on the MTN-350 package for a R 7 889 pay-in.

I don't think that makes sense....
The reason for saying so is that they say the pay-in for the SE X1 on AnyTime 350 is about R6371 which is contrary to MTN's current specials. On the same point, the Nokia N96 has a pay-in of R6155 on AnyTime350; The N96 is the current handset of the month with a pay-in of just over R3K.

You're talking about the MTNSP specials, which are much cheaper than Autopage, Nashuamobile etc.

THe Htc diamond is not a bad phone, i have one although yes the screen is small but it works great with outlook and emails, now if i can get someone to show me how to setup a vpn between my office and my phone. Anyone know how 2 ?

Nashua Mobile:

MTN 200 Anytime + HTC Touch HD = R600 per month
MTN 350 Anytime + HTC Touch HD = R720 per month
MTN 500 Anytime + HTC Touch HD = R835 per month
MTN 750 Anytime + HTC Touch HD = R1060 per month

Vodacom Talk 120 + HTC Touch HD = R690 per month
Vodacom Talk 200s + HTC Touch HD = R815 per month
Vodacom Talk 240 + HTC Touch HD = R815 per month
Vodacom Talk 500 + HTC Touch HD = R1135 per month

Vodacom's new contracts come out on the 7th, we'll see if they include the Touch HD

*edit* no pay-in, the price is worked into the monthly installments

6 of the 1 and half a dozen of the other... I wouldn't say no pay-in, no up front pay-in yes but over a 24 months the pay-in is considerable...

That's some great news Glipsie! Where did you find the info on the Nashua Mobile site?

I didn't find it on the site, I went into the Nashua Mobile store in Sandton City.

Yeah I meant upfront pay-in, just to clear any future questions ;).

Basically it means the pay-in on a MTN 350 is R8880 (370*24), and R8040 (335*24) on MTN 500.

Just got off the phone with MTNSP (083 123 3667). Apparently they are expecting the phone to be available in June, so I'm off to see how well number portability works ;)
