HTC Touch HD

Question for the knowlegeable types out there, my Bluetooth seems to just turn-off randomly. (The battery runs down to about 25% so don't think it is this)

I don't know if this is deliberate (one of MS's "features" you really want), or a bug.

Other than that this phone is the best I've ever had.

Mine (bluetooth) is fine and I must agree it is the best, just a pity they can't use the iPhone touch technology (suppose it's because of patent issues)

AND something else, the speaker is a little bit soft if you use Garmin voice prompt with it. There must be a way to enhance the speaker volume in the registry. I had a Samsung Omnia before and I raised the volume in the registry.

Does anybody knows perhaps where to tweak the speaker volume in the registry?

OK will this Rom enhance the speaker volume and will I lost all my current installed programs?

What other advantages does this rom have above the current official HTC firmware ?

Well Cassie few things to take into consideration first.

Loading a cooked ROM will require you to Hard SPL on your phone first. This is software that allows your phone to accept non official signed ROMS. I can tell you Arthur is a genius on this topic and he would be able to give you some tips I am sure.

Its not a difficult process but you do run the risk of bricking your device if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. But as I said I don’t think its to hard.

All the ROMs enhance different things. Some ROMS are better than others, and normally much better than the official shipped ROM.

Thanks a lot for the info. I think I'll just stay with the original rom. I just want to tweak the speaker volume a bit and I know fron experience with the Omnia it's possible in the registry.

I hope there is somebody who've done it already. I'l google for it and I'm sure will find it in a XDA or other forum. Must just find the time to do it.

Thanks again for the info

Hi Quad - yes, emphatically. It's a lot faster and cleaner, and so far no obvious or irritating bugs. I was on 3.3 Ship and it took two weeks for 3.4 to come out. Throy is now using a beta team to test things thoroughly.

You must first update your SPL to 1.54/1.56 otherwise you'll get the funny green screen thing much discussed on XDA-Dev. I don't use USPL but do all my flashing off the sd card, including the HSPL update, which worked fine. Simply rename the flash source file to BLACIMG.NBH (I use caps as it always works), place in root of sd card, enter flash mode, and it loads off the sd card.

I bought BeeLineGPS a few days ago. It's a GPS app (not navigation or mapping) that records trip details. You can then export the trip as a kml into Google Earth or Maps. It graphically plots speed, acceleration/deceleration, altitude, etc - great useless info for a gizmo-freak. I few trips around Joeys were perfectly tracked on the roads in Google Earth. There's a free 30-day trial version.

for free software that does exactly this, try nonigpsplot.

Is it possible that somebody can explain to me how to upgrade my HD to the new Duttys HD XT V3.6 Final ROM.

I'm completely new to this. How do you do the Hard SPL thing as well?

If it is not too much I'm asking, but I want to give it a try, my battery run flat in half a day with bluetooth on, and I hope this will help

Thanks in advance
