HTC TyTN II (Codename: Kaiser)

Handymap works perfectly well on the TyTN II. Handymap is all I use, Ai gold is going at a reduced price now, a newer version will be released soon, the cool thing is existing users can by an upgrade instead of having to buy the complete package.

Hi Peeps

I am a real newbie when it comes to WM devices HTC etc.

Just a quick question on the display of the device. I have at the moment a SE W900 but I am gonna get myself the new TyTN II when they come available on MTN :-(. Just one question which phone has the better screen resolution as i like a phone that also has a good screen resolution.

And if the W900 has a better resolution what does the HTC compare too??

Not really sure what your question is but there is a link to the W900 specs:

And here is a link to the HTC TyTn 2 specs:

Most of the pocket pc PDA style phones has a resolution of 320 x 240, although some of the latest ones are 640 x 480 (VGA). But the only problem with the 640 x 480 is that your battery life is much shorter.

Some of the newer more popular PDA pocket pc phones that supports 640 x 480 that can be compared to the TyTn 2 is the imate 9502 http://www.gsmarena.com/i_mate_ultimate_9502-2158.php
and the eten x800 or m800 http://www.gsmarena.com/eten_glofiish_x800-1926.php http://www.gsmarena.com/eten_glofiish_m800-2163.php

MTN wants R3 400 for the phone on a Procall 220, what a ripoff!!

just signed with mtn for 429 pm on procall 120 no pay in!

btw, the other option was R2499 pay in on procall 120 for R309 per month.

Why's everyone repeating what I said earlier in the thread? Also, check the pic I uploaded : thread #87

*sigh*

I am having some problems with Hanymap AI Gold. Everything works fine except the update is very slow, it updates every 8 seconds. When I go into gps-status/stream screen where you can view all the gps strings that is send through com4, it gives a burst of strings every 8 seconds. So I suppose that in the Hanymap application there is buffer problem/settings that only submits every 8 seconds.

I have tried all sorts of other applications that uses GPS and they all update every 1 second, sometimes even faster.

So my question is if there is some sort of way to make Hanymap update faster?

That is actually pretty cheap. I had to pay R3100 at vodacom :( That is +- R500 pm for 6 months on budget.

Are you happy with it? I heard that the E90 is so fast at opening programs and stuff and to be honest, the TyTN1 was not great. Yeah I am only up for upgrade in March so thats why it is more.
