where would I find mtn's contractual offers and handsets available? anyone got a link for me? mtn.co.za isn't it... or am I just frigging dumb?
 
To everyone that has this pda, can you check if the key pad below the screen is/seems loose? Mine does, and I'd like to know if its normal. Thanks

Well, it doesn't click into place or anything like that so it does start to open at a slight pressure. But it doesn't open if I don't push.

Download Mobile XT for GPS10, install then download ans install the one for GPS20 from Garmin's website.

@nuf - Thanks, I'm using TomTom at the moment, the only think I don't like is the lack of coverage. Garmin has more coverage.

@SAV - Is that version able to use the internal GPS? If you have a link that'd be great.
 
I use HandyMap AI Gold, and recently drove from Joburg to Durban. But each time I went into a new province I had to load that provinces map, and start a new routing from my gps posision to the edge of the province. I couldn't set a rout from Joburg to Durban because there is mutiple province crossings... anything I am doing wrong?
 
You were probably using the wrong maps. Either use the NATIONAL ROADS one, or a NORTH/SOUTH one, ignore the others.

Copy the OV2 into your map folder (South_Africa) on the SD card fire up TomTom go to change preference > enable POI look for the speed cam group and tick then if you want a warning when you approaching a POI goto manage POI > warn when near POI and select the group you want a warning for.

If you enable QuickGPS the phone will download GPS data, about once a week, that will make the initial GPS lock quicker. This is only a few kilobytes. During normal use the GPS doesn't need a data connection and doesn't need to download anything. Some apps like Smartogo and Nav4all may need a data connection to download map data.

Of course no time to do the readup-manual thing now... just wanna check it out for now, will check out the manual tonite.
I am a little negative over the small size... I like the bigger size & bigger screen of Nokia communicators.
Pity no memory card included too.
And no GPS software included... bummer.
Well, here's my evening booked!

Lucky you :) I'd love to get the tytn 2, but I have the original tytn, and I can't quite justify the expense in upgrading when this one does everything I need it to do :(
 
hmmm, ya me also a bit concerned about paying so much pm on a phone that is just a 'nice to have' more than a 'need to have'.... (ms office will be used well)
but I had a look around, paying cash on a 2nd hand communicator wud work out about the same if u had to add loose call ontract....
but if u have a good phone, then imo not worth paying more if u dont really need it.
i've had to sit with 'normal' phone since i lost my beloved P910i (smashed in car door :mad: :( )
nice to have a new toy! now just to decide if I get the GPS software, or get a standalone GPS rather, since I gotta buy loose anyways.
