Hit the phone button and you get an on screen dial pad ... so you use your thumb like a normal phone ... as you dial it starts resolving numbers that you already have ...
You have another option .. run M Soft voice commander and tell the device " Dial and the number and it does it for you .. this works well for most people but it doesnt like my accent all to much though ..

The HTC 3600 will be the next device that supports HSDPA .. it is the TyTN without the keyboard .. same scenario as the Jammin and the K-Jam ..
i am not to keen on the rest of the range ...
I think you will be forking out more than R 1500.00 seeing as the device itself is not cheap ... further down the line the TyTN will be available in the baseline model ... without HSDPA .. which drops the device cost by about 200 euro's which equates to just under R 2000.00

I wanted to know how much the phone would cost on contract, but seeing that some of the prices posted here are insanely high and some just dont make any sense, i would rather not ask.

Other problem is this, I called around on the K-Jam a while ago and two VC shops give me different prices on the same contract, well none of the shops that i called gave me the same price. Only one MTN shop differed from the other prices i got from other MTN shops.

So i will wait till its in the shop and then i will take a walk to it and ask them there..
 
Took the plunge, forked out the R3k and now it's busy getting a 4 hr charge

It charges via the USB cable through either the AC adaptor or the supplied USB cable. Comes with a nice leather pouch, headset (cable one), software and what appears to be a full version of Medal of Honour: European Assault for the PS2 :D :D

it depends on the end user ... The Built-in voice tags work but you have take time out to train it ....
I will dig up the link for MS Voice Commander .. try www.handango.com they have a trial version .. you can try before you buy

That is the original ROM ... connectivity should be fine, quite cool actually ..
does your voicemail notifications work on MTN with that ROM ??
If it does it will make things very interesting ... on Vodacom as it stands with that specific ROM the Voicemail notifications doesnt work ..
