HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

There really should be a way to be able to save settings (eg login names, passwords, POP, SMTP settings) that can be transferred across ROMs. I guess this means I will have to install SMS Backup before I upgrade to Black 3.

As far as i know the only way to do this right now is pretty much write a script file that can restore your mail settings

yeah, but a ROM change usually means a registry change. will a script work across different ROM's?

Happy with Black 3.0 so far. Seems very stable and definitely nippier than 2.5.
Pim Backup restored my call logs backed-up from Black 2.5 a couple of days ago without any problems. Can't see why the rest won't work.

Ok,
Issue no.1

Everytime i go into an SMS, it scrolls itself automatically to the bottom!

Anyone have a fix for this?

You run the script file after the ROM update ... you wont have your messages but you wont have to configure your mail box again ...

the rest wont work cos your PIM info is a single file ... pretty much the same as your outlook DAT file ... the rest of your device gets backed up using an image. the device gets cloned and when it is restored it needs to be restored to the same base ( being the ROM )

okay guys, be sure to download the updated bluetooth drivers for black 3.0 from the first page of the thread in XDA developers.

What does it do better?

Most of the time when you have these kinds of updates the patches dont do anything better .. they just actually work as they supposed to;)

On another note ... guyz plz be sure about the ROMs you upgrading to ... cos i am seeing more and more peeps killing or corrupting their Radio ROM's and lemmie tell you its a mission to rectify this ... in most cases the device is not totally bricked..
but you get the dreaded No GSM on bootup .. you have a very expensive PDA that cant make a call
