HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Elias, i tried to find the fix for it.

There is a fix for it, JJ posted a new ClearVue app for the fix, apparently there was pink outlining around text which also fixed this issue.

I didn't have that problem, neither with dotVIBE's problem.

.VIBE, i only had that problem with XDA Live .10. Search on xda-devs.com for the thread with the fix.

A simple registry tweak will sort u out like it did for me!

I was going to ask for proof, but I am sure you have a few bricks lying around.

Unfortunately if is very addictive ........ I am a serial flasher.

Right you are about the bricks ... i have a handful of expensive PDA's that used to have a Radio ROM .. no GSM ... it seems as if the Radio ROM has some how been corrupted, everything else works on the devices but no Radio, you cannot reflash the radio it kicks you straight out ...

I know it is hard not to try out the cooked ROM's out there ... but you have to just say NO. constant flashing is not a good thing at all ... the ROM chip has a limited Lifespan ... it can only read and write info so many times before it is rendered useless ... if used correctly the device can live for quite long but like anything that is abused dont expect to get the normal life span.

So if you dudes are going to flash ROM etc, try and do it in moderation cos the TyTN is especially sensitive when it comes to the Radio.

I have flashed my TyTN 4 times so far. I think I will now start to flash at least once in two months. SHould anything happen to this brand new baby, I'll go nuts!

With a handful of devices that is all it took to brick them, and others have been abused and still going strong. I am lucky cos i have a good couple of devices so for me trash them it is fine cos i have replacement devices.
Having your Radio ROM die on you or start giving your hassles is the last thing you want cos you will have beeeeeeeeeeeg issues with dropping calls.
being without your device would be like going back to SABC after having DSTV it is just not right

SABC ......... Noooooooooooooo !

That is just plain cruel.

Don't matter, I'm still flash happy :-)

I know where you coming from ... you just cant help yourself hey :D
while we on the topic of Flashing your ROM more than i change my undies ..
Would any of you SERIAL FLASHERS be so kind to list the ROM's you guys have used so far and comment on performance and how long you ran it .. for the new dudez to get an idea of what to stay away from and what works well here in SA seeing as there are tons of ROM's out there.

Sounds like a good idea man:cool:

You asked for it, but did you really want to hear about it ?

Okie dokie ........ now let's see.

First up was ..... WM_XDA_Live_V0.10 by Kyphur the granddaddy of WM6. Loads of additional cabs and registry fixes for record button, SD card etc.

2nd - V0.20 of the same ROM. HTweakC made live easier, was still in love with the Aero look

3rd - Black 1.2, got hooked on the Black Vista look ........ fixes SOD

4th - Black 2.0, things are starting to get cool, was kinda buggy

5th - LVSW 0.1 Pro - Just a quicky :-0

5th - Black 2.5, some excitement about Messenger having expired ...... sorted in the end.

6th - Black 3.0 Had some k@k with this one until it got sorted with an update

7th - LVSW 250307 - Higher CE version than Black, just had to try it. I am a ROM(ulan).

8th - Black 3.01 was a bit shaky at the start, but worked nicely when the sails were trimmed. Went bonkers on the Today screen and crammed it tighter than a pair of stretch jeans on a fat chick.

9th - LVSW Sleuth - Nicely put together, everything seemed to work.

10th - Black 4.01 - Looking pretty slick with the new HTC Today thingy, but OMG is that c(l)ock ever large ! The battery seems to suck, but then again I have gone back to keeping everything synched via emoze and my BT runs 24 -7. MS AS sucks donkey balls !

11th - The new Touch interface version (subject to availability ; batteries not included), so I can use my stylus for more productive things like getting wax out of my ears.

Some radio's in between, some of these brought about the biggest changes in usability.

1.34
1.35
1.38 - when still had hopes of a working GPS antenna :-(
1.40
1.41 - Current

Some of these ROM's and Radio's were flashed multiple times due duff downloads and generally not being able to make up my mind. Now remember kids ..... don't try this at home, or without adult supervision.

Did I leave something out ?

PS. Another 50 posts and we can overtake the Symbian 990 whores ;-)

HAHA! Gee bru - You actually remember all of that?!?! Quite suprising...

This thread rocks, wait a couple of days and we'll overtake 'em!

I hope the boys come right with that touch.dll and the biotouch app! That'll be awesome!

Wrap ya boys soon....

If you guys have a place for me to upload locally, let me know and I will do willingly.

I had this app, but soon ditched it. Not an F1 fan (though Hamilton is really hotting things up this season!!!!).

Anyway, any of ya guys checked the all new OperaMini Dimension?
Looks great man, just too great for my TyTN (mini.opera.com/beta)

@MyDraadloos - Excellent post dude!

I've personally Tried Black 1.2, Black 2.0, Black 4 and LVSW 20070519.
I find the "Blacks" very cool and nippy but LVSW seems to stick more to the basic OS with some minor tweaks which makes it a good stable choice for 1st time flashers. Radio 1.41.00.10 seems the most stable for me so far.

I'm surpised both of you gents recommend 1.41. I, by far, think 1.43 is so much better and reliable (On the Vodacom network) that is.

And yes, Hamilton is kickin' some RED ass this season! It's a pity taxi drivers can't drive like him in this country.........

Best be giving me a linky son ....... I'll give it a try. The original info I had was that it had been an update for 850 networks, but you recon it is kick'n. Will have a look for it on 4Winmobile and XDA.

No worries .............

I've done xda twice, Black 3 times and currently on sleuth. 2 or 3 radios and currently on 1.40.3. Laziness is probably the only thing that has stopped me flashing more roms. The whole hassle of setting up email accounts and MMS settings such a bore.

Though I have a liking for the speed of the Black roms so I will probably go back and test one at some stage. but this sleuth 3.30 is so smooth that it makes laziness a very viable option.

I have periods of laziness as well, but it blows over and then I flash.

As there are no new ROM's at present I will have to go for a walk in my raincoat.

@MyDraadloos please let me know once you have tested the 1.43 radio - would be very interested (with finger on flash button)

Has anyone used the Spb Phone Suite?
The Spb guys have just released ver 1.1 which integrates with the now official Spb Mobile Shell 1.5. I have been playing with both and I love the profiles option and reject with SMS options.
Some more features:

* Profiles
* Missed call notifications
* Unread SMS notifications
* Call filtering
* Reject & reply with SMS
* Photo speed dial
* Photos in call log
* Wireless manager
* Automatic profile
* Wireless settings in profiles
* Customizable Today plug-in

NICE!! ;)
