HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

@MyDraadloos please let me know once you have tested the 1.43 radio - would be very interested (with finger on flash button)

The new radio is in and seems to be behaving OK. Have not noticed anything bad like dropped calls etc.

Battery is still crappy but I think it is more to do with Black 4.0 or my use of emoze push mail and MSN.

It is not even 12- hours yet, more feedback tomorrow.

lol... Prob that emoze push mail thing, and didn't you also mention your bluetooth is always on?

Not gonna lie, battery is kinda sihtty. And I dnt use all of that at all! Get's me up to around 20% at the end of the day...

Just downloaded final build of Mobile Shell 1.5. Quite impressed....

Going to test them out today and test whether Home plugin is better or not..

Let me know how that works out ........ there was not enough space for apps in the HTC Home thingy so I had to use O2 Plus as well.

The battery thingy is still freaking me out, will do some research tonight ..... for some odd reason my registry does not have the same entries as what everyone has posted ....... I wonder if it would be quicker to flash or find a solution ?

The emoze push mail is working for me, so it is unlikely I will get rid of it as I like to be able to use my own domain for sending e-mail.

What is the story with MTN/Vodacom BlackBerry service ? How does it work ?

Forwarding everything to MSN or Gmail is not going to work for me right now.

The OTA sync is faster than MS AS ........ unbelievable.

Also I hate holding the TyTN against my ear and use the BT headset all the time, makes life a lot easier. My 20 most used numbers are on voice dial. Now I just need to save up for one of those Jawbone BT headsets and BT GPS receiver.

I had the Blackberry application on MTN for my 9500 for a while... i think its a little too pricey for what u get. U have a web interface and u get a mail address ([email protected]) or something. This is the push account. From the web interface you can get it to download other mail accounts (eg yahoo/gmail/etc) periodically not as instant as blackberry... but still works.

I guess all replies would then be via the providers e-mail addy ........ grrrrrrr

Not an option for me then ....... hopefully emoze will soon have support for multiple accounts.

Aaaaaargh, it seems my Storage Card has been formatted. How i don't know. I suspect my home computer still has the more important stuff. But this is quite the irritation.

The reason i say this ... is that a standard network adapter runs at 10Mbps or 100Mbps.

MTN HSDPA Connects (or used to) at 1.8Mbps... it's now 3.6Mbps... and not that ANYBODY has ever downloaded at 450KB/s before...therefore your usb has NO WAY for it to be possible to run at 10Mbps.

This is the reason your post dont' make sense.... not many people speak of 10mbps... maybe 10Mbps (but that's different altogether)

maybe ur bits and ur bytes are a little muddled :)

Just tried the USB again, and I still get 10.0Mbps!!! I even have a screenshort. I know that this is not the 'actual' connection speed, but this is what pops up on my taskbar after connecting. Even if I go to the taskbar and double click the connection it displays the speed of 10.0Mbps!

What's the size of Radio 1.43, I started downloading that file it doesnt show the size. (Im using Hellkom ISDN 2a ) ?

Well that is the port speed. You basically answered it yourself then.... it's not the actual connection speed. It just means that you won't be able to get 1.8Mbps speeds while connected with bluetooth then. So theoretically u won't be able to get speeds of higher than 1250KB/s from ur tytn via the USB port.

I havent seen anything advertised about MTN upgrading their Network to 3.6Mbps, can anyone confirm this?

Something interresting has happened now for the 2nd time with the Shadow 4.01 Rom.... it vibrated - and then locked itself - saying i need to enter my password to unlock it.... only thing is - i don't have a password. So far a reset has worked each time.

I would say ppl have to be cautious as to what ROMS they download. What is to stop JJ from making a ROM with an unlock code you can only get when u pay him some money.

And if not him... maybe someone else
