HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

sandman, just keep in mind ... if you are running HardSPL of any sorts, this ROM will help you SWEET BLUE BUGGEROL! This ROM is meant for STOCK standard TyTN units ...

well look I've tried it I dont know how many times now without any luck so I must be very very dumb or I'm missing something critical along the way but it gives me various options none of which include windows 6.0..... ai.... I know the solution is staring at me I just see it for now, perhaps a security setting on my browser, or a firewall, I dont know...

Look I'm having a hard enough time finding the 6.0 but tell me Landy? how would I restore SPL2.10 to standard tytn? Would I flash 5.0 rom version?

Finally got sick and tired of waiting for Leaf's non existant rom. Went over to www.htc.com, signed in to the htc club, hit phone software updates and I don't see a single phone listed???? Something wrong with the site or is IS on the fritz again? Tried with firefox 2.0, ie 7 and ie 6 they all show the same thing

Ok, after signing on the e-Club, you need to register your device by inputing the phone's Serial Number found under the battery. If you dont do that, you wont be able to download the ROM.
Good luck guys:cool:

man, sounds like you guys are struggling. BTW, to flash a official ROM to your HARD SPL phone, I just use Dutty's RomKoch. Unpack the ROM, and then repack for the new bootloader. Good luck!

Ya, they are struggling indeed. I think thats because they havent registered their devices yet. If thats not the case, then I rest my case..

wouldnt *#06# display the imei number? thats the number i used to register the handset on htc.com. oh they asked for sn number to register handset not imei number, sn number is different yes?

right registered using sn number and not imei number which was the error i made, now how am i going to remove the SPL 2.10 and i only installed it because it supposed to make flashing safe...

Storage Card Unavailable.

Howzit.

I'm having problems with my storagecard. Every now and then (once a day) when I try to access programs on my Storage card the TYTN gives me some kind of message that the card isn't present.

I then take it out reinsert and all is back to normal.

Anyone else getting this problem?

Also will this be a card fault or phone fault.

If it's the phone, I will need to get my phone back to factory default so that I can take it to leaf.

I'm currently running there rom but with Hard SPL 7

Tx

A Newbie with Newbie tendencies...

I tried  but failed dismally  trying to make sense of a thread this long just isn't possible. So here's my story...hope you techie types can help:

Got myself a HTC TyTN 2 months ago. Thought I'd join this site to figure out how the hell the thing works, tried to be a power ranger and start reading the thread from the 1 post...realised very soon that that was stupid...so i skipped to midway through the thread...only to be met by a whole lot of jargon i don't quite get.
Ok, I have a TyTN...it has WM5...what should I do to it...in layman's terms please  ????

Oh, I tried downloading the new WM6 from HTC's site...it just takes too long. Even our company's network gave up after 2 hours. Does anyone know where one could get it in SA? On a disc or something? Maybe even zipped? I've mailed Leaf but as has been mentioned before in this thread, they're running in the wrong direction.

Leaf response

Got an email response from Leaf...

Thanks for the email on HTC TyTN/Hermes

Unfortunately we don’t have windows mobile 6 for the pocket pc’s yet, Because We are still testing WM6 for South Africa and have not yet released the final ROM.

If the parent company has approved and is rolling it out internationally why can it be rolled out here in SA?

It does look like the European HTC FTP server is taking some strain ... can you begin to imagine how people world wide are downloading that ROM as well ...
Anyway ... i got the ROM but i am in Cape Town

When I spoke to the Product Manager last, he mentioned that the Radio included in the official release locally would be SA specific and not any of the other radio versions currently floating around. They were testing 3 weeks back so I can't see what's hoding them back.

Incompetence is what's holding them back. Anyway I DL and installed WM6.0 and yes it takes f.....g ages to DL, like 6hours!!! But it's a nice piece of software. In love with my tytn all over again...

Is it worth leaving something like Black Majik for the official WM6?

mmmmm... I didn't use Black Majik for all that long but I would probably say stick with Black yes, although it shouldn't be too difficult to flash WM6.0, use it for a while and decide thereafter... 6.0 is nice but it's not it's not revolutionary, it's a nice evolution from 5.0, not as radical as say vista is to xp...

As with everything else .. in the long run factory spec will always be better than anything customised .... the WM 6.0 ROM's are quite stable and run really smooth ... but having said that if the Custom ROM works for you then dont fix it if it aint broken.
