I am sure I read a thread that someone bought the imate or Ttn directly from abroad. Maybe we should here from them about the voice quality issues?

3 of us are using imported TYTN's - never had any issues with voice quality.

See there is no problem with it! Think its there own Firmware they are loading thats the problem!

That's the problem. I don't know why MTN, Vodacom, Cell-C and Virgin brand their phones. Most of the times it's the branding that mess up the phones.

My Jasjar was branded.(MTN) Gave me problems. I flashed it with new software and everything was fine.
My SE W810i was branded.(MTN) Gave me problems. I flashed it with new software and everything was fine.
My mothers SE W810i was branded. (Cell-C) Gave her problems. I flashed it with new software and everything was fine.
Same with my Samsung D600. It's Vodacom branded and it's giving me problems. Just don't know how to flash it yet.

*in weird voice* "Well thars ya problem, them farmware ya tryin to put on is tha vermin! Wife bring me my thunda stick! I need to do me some huntin! WIFE!"

I purchased the Tytn from abroad about a month back, even on the back of a declining exchange rate the phone cost me R6800-00 which is about R1200-00 cheaper than what leaf are selling it here for. I have not had any problems with the phone at all so far on the MTN network, HSDPA works well as well.

I phoned my local MTN SP branch, and at this time no HTC phones are listed on their systems. Plenty of i-mates still appear though.

The wait continues...

Get a hair dryer, it works faster! :D If only we can get a big anough dryer to move along the JASJAM's release.... No where did i put that jet engine..

I hear C have the JASJAM available???

If it is the i-Mate Jasjam don't get it. If it is the HTC TyTN then it's fine. Leaf Wireless doesn't suppport the i-Mate anymore, only HTC. So if you have problems with your i-Mate I think you will have difficulty having it sorted out.

That's only what I think.;)

Good day,

I doubt it as HTC have always been the makers of I-Mate so I'm pretty sure they'll still sort it out

Just a Q; if you get the JASJAM on contract, isnt it the service provider's duty to help you to sort out your problems?

Mmmm… I would be a little surprised if Leaf just dropped the support on the i-mate range. They surely need to honour support for existing i-mate users and existing stock. Would be very unprofessional of Leaf to just drop the product all together until there is a new distributor. I would think it would be risky for their new HTC customer’s base as people often relate a phone and support to a company rather than a brand. Maybe we can get some answers from a Leaf representative on this?
