though tbf to you dotVIBE, I did once send sms instructions to someone where all the lefts should have been rights and vice-versa
Anyone out there who can help with this one?
Bought a Jasjam 14 days ago (MTN). Generally happy with it, EXCEPT that it seems to develop random features unless I restart it on a daily basis: Anything from freezing to being unable to answer a call. I noticed that it does not clear running programs from memory when the 'x' button is clicked, so I installed VBar (free utility that causes the button to actually terminate programs). Certainly better since then, but still far from perfect. I certainly never had similar problems with a symbian phone. Problem seems to be worse when I use the phone a lot.
The final straw came this morning when it refused to come out of sleep mode, and did not ring with incoming calls.![]()
To be fair, I had been installing quite a few programs (onto the MicroSD card), but that is after all why I got the thing.
I have now uninstalled most of the extra stuff (including the bundled antivirus), but would like to hear if anyone has ideas on what else I could / should do, or where I can get some guidance on troubleshooting this.
Program memory free: 25.25 MB
Storage memory free: 34.08 MB
Memory card: 512 MB, 380MB free.
Stuff I had installed, removed now: Skype, .Net framework V2 (for a code browser that needed it), the bundled CA Antivirus (Usually the first thing I disable when things go pear-shaped, and the only one of all this stuff that was installed at the time of the first crash), PocketFMS (GPS software).
Stuff I installed myself, still on: vBar, OpenVPN
Pre-installed, still on: Pool, Blackjack, Suite, WMP Today, Clearvue PDF, Imaginet XMS
ROM version 1.31.305.2
Thanks
Thanks for the help. Will go with the hard reset.
While I'm going to do that: Does anyone know how to reliably move 'My Documents' to the SD card (and keep it synch'ed there)? Stuff I could find on the net was contradictory. Would be nice if I could move the biggest resource hog out of ram.
For the radio stack changes to stick, will the screen on the unit change from displaying:
Upgrade
Radio Stack
Please wait..
Cause I ran the program. Got an Error 120 : Country..., ran it again then the above appeared. After what could have been close to 10 minutes, the program came up with Error 114. I closed the program, waited about 30sec and then did a soft reset.
When I check the Device Information, it still has the radio as 1.18.
