HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Hi guys,

I'm joining the ranks of TyTn owners today, and have trolled through the 66 odd pages here with my eye's getting crossed (I'm a noob when it comes to phones)

Based on what I've seen here I'm looking for a anti-reflective screen and a Sandisk 1 GB micro card - can anyone tell me where a good polace will be to get it in JHB?

Also, would you recommend I get the ROM's updated when I get the phone or wait till things start going slooooow?

Thanks,

Sabre

Dropped Calls

Anyone experience problems on teh Tytn with dropped calls and not being able to hear teh other party?

I've had no issues with dropped calls or voice quality

And the web link to this sunlight tool is where on this 'going to 100 pages' thread please?

dotVIBE stated to start reading from page 56. But it seems this thread has been trimmed a bit since then.

EDIT: The search this thread function found it on p22

howzit guys...

im over from the other side (that massive p990 thread)
which is only so massive coz of the mega firmware issues we been having.

anyways today the p990 died a horrible death and im wondering... only wondering if maybe i should say goodbye to that troublesome machine and maybe look at the tytn...

started reading the pages here to try work out if you guys have been having a lot of issues like we have or if you guys pretty much sailing along, or are there some of you that are wishing you didnt get a tytn? just trying to do my homework a bit better this time

thanks

yeah, most of us have been pretty happy. The TyTn does have a couple issues, like all high end phones, but nothing that'll make me leave it for anything else on the market right now.

firmare issues have been largely resolved, and the windows mobile 5 AKU 3.3 updates are due in early march.

for me the biggest issue was reading the screen in sunlight, but I managed to managed to half solve that.

The other thing you must realize of the bat, is that not having a numerical keypad is not to everyone 's taste. Once you've set up you're voice dial you're a for away though.

:Dme, I love my TyTn:D

Can anyone tell me the cost of a second sim card, i love my Tytn and it enables me to be completely mobile away from my office but that comes with a price and that is the battery life, I find myself having to take the sin out of my Tytn because my battery goes dead and then have to swap it into my Nokia. I already havecontract with MTN plus a 100MB bundle on my Tytn as well as a data card so I am loath to start paying extra for a 2nd sim card. Advise would be appreciated.

The Data connection tends to be a tad bit thirsty ... an option to look at is a spare battery and desktop cradle ...

I am fortunate that I either have a PC or my laptop close by. To be able to charge off the USB is one of the most useful things I like about the phone.

No dropped calls, no other major issues bar remembering to take the phone out of sleep mode before it will make any Bluetooth connections.

Love it! :D

Anyone ever tried setting up a POP connection to their gmail account?

Bluetooth

Anyone figured out how to keep bluettoth alive when phone goes into sleep mode?

There must be way becasue I have a bluetooth car kit and surely i do not have to keep switching teh phone on for connectivity?

OK, been waiting for 2 weeks now for my HTC TyTN. In Nelspruit, and all the MTN shops have the same answer - no stock. Yet Leaf Wireless is advertising that if I purchase direct from them, I can get it immediately?

Is there anybody out there that I can phone to speed up the process?

MTNDataDude?
