HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Anyone figured out how to keep bluettoth alive when phone goes into sleep mode?

There must be way becasue I have a bluetooth car kit and surely i do not have to keep switching teh phone on for connectivity?

This is a problem with certain handsfree sets (not all) that will hopefully be addressed with the AKU updates. Until then, try this app:

http://www.jetwaremobile.com/beta.htm

(the PocketPC phone version)

What type of handsfree kit do you have?

OK, been waiting for 2 weeks now for my HTC TyTN. In Nelspruit, and all the MTN shops have the same answer - no stock. Yet Leaf Wireless is advertising that if I purchase direct from them, I can get it immediately?

Is there anybody out there that I can phone to speed up the process?

MTNDataDude?

@BigChop

Could you please give me the name of the dealer's I'll send this to my Dealer manager and see if there's anything he can do to speed up the process

PM me with the above and your details and I'll see what I can do......

Thanks MTNDD

My poor TYTN got sick the other day :( . In camera or movie mode the screen flickers with green or pinkish colours. When the photo is taken it actually shows up on the photograph. I tried a hard reset but to no avail. I'm not shure why it started in the first place, I have never dropped or mistreated it... I guess I'll have to send it in to get repaired  . Should I take it into MTN or get it to Leaf direct?

Ok... i've JUST finished reading this WHOLE thread... including everybody moaning about the TyTN not being available etc etc etc.... *Phew*

Took me like 2 days of spare time!!

Question i have tho... and was wondering if anyone else has this problem...
I can't set alarms under Clocks and Alarms. Well i can - but when they go off i receive ZERO notification. The alarm would sound - but i'm unable to snooze or cancel or anything. so it goes off - u leave it - and it goes off again in a few minutes... till like LONG afterwards that it eventually gets tired of warning u about ur alarm u missed.

But then when u do a reboot - it sounds ALL the alarms u've set... ALL at ONCE!

Now i don't really wanna do a hard reset - because i'm running a mac - and the process from getting everything off my 9500 onto my mac and then onto my tytn was QUITE a procedure - with various high blood pressured scenarios!

Does anyone else have this? Is there a backup utility?

Oh and just another question - bought my tytn a few weeks ago - it's still pretty new - and when i do the ROM Check thing by holding POWER + OK + Reset it gives me this:

Herm 200
IPL-1.01
Herm 200
SPL-1.09

shoudln't it be giving me a lot more info?

Nope, that's not actually a ROM check, that's the bootloader mode. It just shows you what bootloader you have. Yours is SPL 1.09. To check your ROM go: start>settings>system>device info

As to the alarm thingy, a hard reboot should sort you out. Use a backup program like spb backup from www.spbsoftwarehouse.com and just restore after the hard reboot. You'll still have to go through the schlep of setting up your internet & email and owner info again.

xda's ftp site is currently down apparently.

I'm d/l RUU_Hermes_HTC_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10_108_Test.exe from the FTP? Correct file?

I've downgraded my SPL to 1.04 and upgraded to radio version. 1.21.31.10

I think.

What's next?

The HTTP site is very slow but still up.

Well, you need to make sure your device is SuperCID. will you just be flashing the ROM and Ext ROM, or are you going to run the exe (easier but maybe not the most versatile)

AKU 3.3 Rom Upgrade

Well, you need to make sure your device is SuperCID. will you just be flashing the ROM and Ext ROM, or are you going to run the exe (easier but maybe not the most versatile)

I only want to do the ROM and Ext Rom upgrades.

I've done your Lessons 1 -4 so I think my phone is Super CID?

What do I need to upgrade just the ROMS?

Anything else that needs upgrading?

OK, let's make sure.

First, start downloading:

ftp://xda:[email protected]_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10_108_Test.exe

Now, you confirm that you are SPL 1.04 by going into bootloader mode and checking.

To load SuperCID:

extract the HErm unlock v2a file. Run MAupgrade in the HErmes Radio 1.16 subfolder. Then copy unlock v2a to your phone and run.

Now you have superCID. check lesson 4 for unlocking extROM.

Next upgrade your Radio Rom to 1.27

download ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Extracted_Radio_ROMs/HERM_1.27.00.00_type2_radio.zip
put your phone into bootloader mode and run maupgrade in the radio folder.

Next: the tricky part-flashing the AKU3.3 Test upgrade NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!

Note: all this info was pulled from XDA developers forum. All kudos go to them.

Note: if something goes wrong during this process, you will probably brick your device and void your warranty.

That said, it worked for me. But do not attempt this lightly. In fact, do not attempt this at all.

First: flashing bootloader 1.01MFG

download
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Cooked_ROMs/SPL-1.01MFG_Pack.zip

First disable usb connections in activesync.

Flashing SPL-1.01 MFG instructions

1. Put hermes in bootloader mode (side ok + power button + softreset)
2. Connect Hermes to computer using USB cable.
3. Open mtty.exe, select "USB" from the dialog box, then hit Ok.
4. Hit enter twice and you'll see the "USB>" prompt.
5.Then type these commands: (note the use of 'lnb*s*')

USB>task 32
Level = 0
USB> lnbs SPL-1.01.nbs 50020000
USB> task 8

6. Device will reboot after this, with bootloader 1.01-MFG on it.

If you get level = FF, then your device is not superCID. Abort and go back to flashing SuperCID

Now extract OS and Ext ROM from the AKU 3.3 Test.

Open the test ROM .exe file with winrar or similar. Extract the contents to a subfolder. copy the mtty program to that subfolder.

Flashing ExtROM

1. Put hermes in bootloader mode (side ok + power button + softreset)
2. Connect Hermes to computer using USB cable.
3. Open mtty.exe, select "USB" from the dialog box, then hit Ok.
4. Hit enter twice and you'll see the "USB>" prompt.
5.Then type these commands: (note the use of 'lnb', without 's')

USB> task 32
USB> lnb 04_ExtROM.nb 57500000
USB> task 8

Flashing OS

USB> task 28
USB> lnb 06_OS.nb
USB> task 28
USB> task 8

This will do it. If you made it this far, congratulations. You now have the latest ROM installed on your phone.

The official ROM will probably be released in March sometime.

You are able to Maunually backup your PIM information .. ( Tasks, Calendar, Contacts ... )
In File explorer navigate to your "My Device" copy the PIM .. and paste it onto your Storage card ... you will need an application that has the ability to soft reset your device ... I use Memmaid ...
after hard resetting your device ... navigate to your "My Device" rename the pim to oldpim
the PIM info copied to your storage card can now be restored ... once the info has been copied back to your My Device folder you would need to soft reset your device with an application ( manual soft resetting wont work )
your info should now be restored ... including your call history ..

Now extract OS and Ext ROM from the AKU 3.3 Test.

Open the test ROM .exe file with winrar or similar. Extract the contents to a subfolder. copy the mtty program to that subfolder.

Hi.

To get the nb files use this:

Now Download The NBHextract Program And Extract The ROM Contents.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289830

1. Open A Command Prompt In Windows

2. Change To The Directory With NBHextract In It.

3. Type This Command At The Command Prompt
C:\> NBHextract.exe <NBH File Name>.nbh

Other than that everthing went OK and she is looking very pretty.

Thanx for all your help dotVIBE!!

Please check that all my versions are upto date.

ROM version: 2.05.255.1
Radio : 1.27.00.00
Protocol : 32.60.7020.06H
EXT 2.05.255.101
