HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Good idea... that file is the one i used to flash mine with :)
Lemme know if the file becomes one after you've unrarred the 5 files...

I downloaded all the files extracted, 44,7 MB.

I will flash it now ! Can I use that hard-spl before the rom upgrade to prevent any problems?

Drat ! That is no good. I wonder if the GPS will work in the helicopter.

Maybe try this?

t sounds like there have been a number of screen lockup issues, and it is getting hard to keep track of them in this thread. Maybe it is time I start a thread devoted just to screen locks??

In regards to the previous post, I have resco today and live installed and never locked up with .20.1 (I did with .10 when apps were on my card, but not after I moved them)

I bring this suggestion today to not only speed up your hermes in WM06, but might help with screen locks:
Install and run the program attached called checknotifications. Under options at the bottom, select settings, tick both boxes and ok out. Look for any SCRIPT events and note how many to post in the forum. Look for any events named NULL. Tap and hold on those events and delete. Then tap the "clear" button at the top. Should it stop at clearing '29 events of 30' (or something similar) you missed a NULL event, find it and delete it.

DISCLAIMER: If you get really stupid with this program, and start deleting notifications that are not red or that YOU think are duplicates, you can really screw things up big time. DO NOT screw with your notifications manually if you don't know what you are doing. Simply run the program and then close it. I will not post notification fixes for dummies. /DISCLAIMER

Again I don't know that this will fix your screen lock problem, but it will help WM06 run better. This is especially true if you have a lot of reminders or calendar events....

Ah it seems that syncing problem was caused by my restoring data from my non-xda live setup

Anyone been able to setup the gmail smtp server on their TyTN? If so could you please give a step by step process how you did so?

EDIT: Hmm, I've got more than one GMail account and it seems once I setup one I can't setup the others. Anyone else notice this?

Nope.... i use yahoo

but it has something to do with secure server and a port ... go and read the gmail email setup instructions - i think they explain some of it there

11.3. Only display messages from the last 1 days (is what i have)
11.4. Enable "Incoming Mail server requires SSL authentication"
11.5. Enable "Outgoing Mail server requires SSL authentication"

And i sent a message which i also received....

Hope this helps

Yeah, but you have to setup your Gmail account to allow pop mail as well afaik.

Thanks, looks like a handy tip and thx for a great thread!

Can someone pls confirm how stable this new WM6 ROM is.
Leaf has confirmed that their AKU 3.3 Update should be available in the next week. They have also confirmed that they will be making WM6 available as a free upgrade in May 07. (Eish, am I glad I didn't get the Jasjam now!)

@ Jongi

thanx guy, nice tip.

@Kahn
The ROM is quite stable, not totally bug free though. I like how much faster it is than WM5, but I have issues with MMS and one or two other things.

BTW all this stuff works perfectly on the JasJam too :D

Thanks for the update dotVibe!

Do all your WM5 Apps work? I'm using Spb Mobile Shell and I'd hate to loose it.

I'm sure the cooked Rom would work on the JasJam as it's essentially the same hardware platform. It might be a marketing thing, but Leaf claimed that i-Mate would not get a free upgrade to WM6 locally.

A pity if that is the case, because the i-Mate market is quite large locally.
:(

What's up with this radio Rom update. Radio 5.6mb 25 mins to install. Wm 6 48mb and installs in a flash?

I went for the 0.20.1 but will be downgrading to official aku 3.3 as soon as it's out. Wm6 is still to buggy for me.

Has anyone seen a proper 100% fix for the wake-up issue? I can't afford to miss calls, will cost me my job.

TX

@Kahn

SPB mobile shell works fine. other spb programs not so fine.

@swaz
No fix yet, but i havent had this problem luckily.
3G should work fine on those GSM settings

general, Wifi can only be switched off through comm manager at this stage.

Yeah, I find this ROM a bit buggy too. hope 0.30 will be better.

All these issues make me wonder if it's worth the effort then?
It would seem that it might be better to get the WM5 AKU 3.3 and to wait for the official HTC WM6 ROM.

dotVibe - would appreciate your take on this as the last thing anyone needs is a buggy phone!

I like v0.20 - i have noticed one or two little buggy bits in it tho... perhaps more than in v0.10 i think...

nothing serious tho... very minor things mostly i find.

If you want something "100%" i don't think WM5 is your route either....imho!!

I have had many phones in my life - and i have NEVER been as annoyed after switching on my brand new TyTN, setting an alarm and it ringing on time.... but not showing any indication that its making a noise... hence i had nothing to cancel - only an INCREDIBLY ANNOYING alarm which eventually decided to go into snooze mode... and then ringing EVERY FIVE MINUTES!!! (Also without any notification)

So if you want something "100%" go get a nokia 2110.... it does everything it claims very well...

The TyTN and the JasJam.... and basically every other Windows Mobile phone... uses a microsoft product... not only that (cause microsoft makes some great games, and stunning hardware), but it's a WINDOWS product! So in my opinion - any update is a good update...and an improvement on the previous edition...

I wish i can install something like linux on it... but i think they're not quite there yet.

So if u want to wait for the official WM6 Rom.... i'm pretty sure they would have fixed video calling (which is the only "obvious" thing i can't see working yet)

... i still drop calls tho
and sometimes i dial a number and it just beeps in my ear, not doing anything.... This happened in WM6 v0.10, WM6 v0.20 AND the "official" WM5 version

but then - i did expect something like that when i bought it.... it's microsoft windows.... and i made peace with it
