Huawei Antenna

I went to Poynting and they refered to one their dealers (QDCellular). I went there they told me they are not open to the public. Im still stuck, What do i have to do to get the Antenna?

What do you need a normal external antenna or a Yagi?

I just wanted the standard antenna. When I contacted poynting they wanted to sell me an antenna that looks like its meant for a TV. All I want is the standard antenna with the 300mm cable(the ones once sold by MTN).

In my post on page one of this topic I stated that when I went to the Walk In Center at The Glen I was refered to Vodashop as according to the consultant "MTN dont stock them anymore". Pitty the vodacom antennas plug didnt connect. This was a few months ago and I did mention it in another post back then but I got no response.
 
The Glen is also the only walk in center I have access to.

I got an antenna from MTN Service Centre in Santon yesterday, It was even cheaper there R 137, 80, and it works like a cham. I get full bars now, and my speed can go up to 1,3Mps

Just got a call from the MTN Walkin center at The Glen. They have stock and it costs R138. I told him to keep one for me till I can get out there at month end. He explained to me that they had a problem getting stock from Midrand but do have stock now.

I got mine from MTN SP @ the Pavillion. MTNDD organised it. It was a while ago and they did say they were low on stock. It makes a difference, sometimes I have seen a three bar difference in signal.

How did you guys get a db measurement from the card, what software have you used to get this.
 
thanks snakepit. yeah i went to mtn at pavilion today - nothing. and they dunno when they're getting.
 
I am going to try and find one of these external antenna anywhere in the JHB/Pretoria area tomorrow. I also need a connector to my Yagi antenna on my roof. Wish me luck! :confused:

If anyone sees this and knows where I can get these please let me know.

I picked up a Antenna for the huawei e620 today at the mtn walk in center just outside canal walk. At my home (far outside durbanville in the WC) it definitely looks to be a substantial improvement. No real difference in the amount of bars in the mtn card app, but feels a lot faster/more responsive, and no random disconnects yet. edge only, of course.
