Huawei Antenna's available

MTNDD, thanks for the pic.

It looks just like the Vodafone one someone gave me, but the connector wouldn't fit through the hole in the yellow plastic and I didn't want to force it.

The connectors looked like they would mate, and I thought of removing the yellow plastic, but couldn't find an obvious way of doing it without possibly breaking it.

I hope you can help in getting this antenna issue sorted out, I've had an ongoing battle on hellopeter for the last month.

The latest is Lynton from the MTN Network Group is prepared to come to my house and my father's house and install yagi antennae (at no charge!), but he can't because he doesn't have the connectors for the cards, and can't even get hold of a unipole antenna to make up a pigtail as MTN SP have them and haven't allocated any stock for MTN Network Group.

@ginggs

Good day,

I'll forward this to Midrand warehouse and see if we can sort something out for network group, as for the connector is anyone else experiencing this problem as I need to make my Device manager aware of this then.

Let me see what I can do

I have been to 3 MTN shops (Brooklyn, Centurion, Faerie Glen) and none of them have any antennas. Does any one know of a shop in Pretoria or Johannesburg that stocks them?

MTN DD,

Can we go to the MTN Warehouse in Midrand directly to buy antennaes? I work in Midrand so I can do so if it is allowed.

Aren't we in the process of getting you one?

MTNDD

Not that I know of. I was at the MTN shop in Brooklyn the other day but they wouldn't give me one as they've only received enough for their own clients. According to them the MTN shop where I got mine (Midrand) should call all their clients who bought datacards to inform them that the earpieces are available for pick-up. Problem is that my sim is only used in my my datacard and I need the earpiece to take any incomming calls - so they will never get hold of me - even if they were to try (which I doubt anyway - unless they were to send me a sms - which I haven't received yet).

Huawei antenna available at Century City Service Centre - 18 July 2006

I just got this from Paul Rozycki of MTN SP:

I have just received confirmation from the Service Centre in Century City, the antennas will be delivered there on Tuesday next week. They were shipped regionally and some of the service centers in JHB had already received them but there was a delay to ship to CT.

Paul's actually damn good at solving problems fast as well, he's solved many of the problems I've had that the call centre said couldn't be solved. I suspect he has the ability or at least capability to kick some a$$ at MTNSP.

He is often behind the answer for MTN on HelloPeter.com

I think they only ordered 1000 of these

MTNDD

Is that enough?

Does not seems enough to me. how many users will want one and then not be able to get hold of one?

If more are required then we'll order more, but when you first order it's always better to order to see what the demand is going to be and then order more the next time around.

I did order one, or should I say I received a pm from MTNDD telling me that they send him a e-mail that they (Century City) will phone me when it arrives. Probably Tuesday. I hope this is correct. I don't want to wait longer than that.
