Huawei B315 Smart Broadband wireless

I'm hoping that someone is able to help me.
I have been approached by a Telkom consultant regarding the abovementioned.

However, I am not much of a techno, so I really need help & advice.

There is virtually no wi-fi signal in my house, whether it be Vodacom, etc, we just have a continual struggle.My husband currently has a Vodacom wi-fi dongle, but he has to move from room to room just to be able to send an email.

So, as I was saying, a Telkom consultant called me & offered me the Hauwei B315 on a Smart Broadband wireless contract.Basically I will be getting 20GB of wi-fi data per month for R199.00.

While this is a fabulous deal, I'm afraid that I will be sitting with a monthly premium for something that I may not be able to use to it's full capacity. I have confirmed that there is no Fibre or LTE coverage to my address.

Please advise me on what would be the better option for me in my current situation.

I was in a similar situation. Here is what I did.

Bought a secondhand Huawei B315 and paid cash for it.
Got a prepaid LTE Telkom sim and loaded some prepaid data.

Got everything up and running and after 3 months I was satisfied with my connectivity.

Went ahead and got a LTE contract with router.

Then sold the original secondhand router on Gumtree.

Maybe doing something similar might work for you ?

Please note that you're getting 10gb of daytime and 10gb of night data with that deal. It's a great price, but know what you're getting. I can't comment on how the wifi will work from the router in your house. I use a the same one and have no issues, but my place is tiny.

Actually, reading your post again you problem might not be wifi, but cell reception. Wifi only send the signal from the modem to your phone/tablet/computer. Your issue could be that the signal doesn't get from the networks' towers to your modem. You can get booster aerials but I'm not sure of the cost.
