I am currently using the Huawei E5186 LTE-A modem with (XPOL-06) and just got the B315 as part the uncapped deal. I don’t have LTE-A in my area, I am not sure if I will ever get it.

Do you think it’s worth switching over to the B315? Will I get better LTE performance on the B315? I’m thinking of selling the B315 but if the speeds are better on the B315 then I’ll sell the E5186 instead. I know I could just open the box, plug it in and test it myself but I don’t want to open the box, because then I won’t be able to sell the B315 as new.

As a comparison, I had the B593 before the E5186 and my stats did not improve that much. I just prefer the E5186’s web interface. So I guess I could ask the question, is the B315’s performance better than its predecessor, the B593?

What type of speeds are you currently getting with the E5186 on LTE?
What area are you staying in?

Personally I would keep the E and sell the B since future upgrades in LTE speeds could be in your favor.
The E also seems to have better specs, but unfortunately I don't have real world tests to confirm my opinion.
You should get about the same price E second hand as for the B in a like-new condition.

E5185S versus B315

My E5185S modem was sent in for repairs about a month ago. Telkom does not have this model in stock to replace mine and are now offering me the new B315 modem instead. They cannot tell me how long I will wait for the E5185S. I am completely clueless with such things but it seems to me that the E5185S is a better modem than the B315. Can someone help please.
