Hi, my Huawei B535 cannot register onto Telkom 4g network for some reason. I'm using this router for about 2 months now with Telkom 1TB deal with no problems what so ever until last week I noticed my network was set on 3g and it does not want to go back on to the 4g network. I tested the same simcard with my Huawei Mifi router and with my phone and it connects to the 4g network. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Things I have tried so far,
Router restart
Router reset
Firmware Update

Hello, here are some things you can try:

Change the preferred network mode in the router to 4G only, apply and restart.

If that does not work, you can try downloading the HuaCtrl app on Android (might be available on iOS but I'm not sure) and log in to your router via the app.

Try manually setting the bands to 1800Mhz, 2100Mhz, and 2300Mhz separately and see what that does. Also, try using them all and see which one the router actually connects to (will show on the app home screen).

If that doesn't make a difference switch back to Auto or just restart the router again.

Thank you for your time to reply but, unfortunately that did not help either. The router does not want to register to the Telkom network. When I do a manual network search it gives me two options, Telkom 3g (registered) and Telkom 4g (available). If i pick the Telkom 4g option it fails to connect to it. If I set the network search mode to auto it selects the 3g network. When I force the router to 4g 1800mhz or 2300mhz it gives me no signal. The problem is the router worked with this Telkom simcard on 4g no problem on 1800mhz and just like that it stopped picking up signal on telkom 4g. I even tried a different telkom simcard in the router and same problem. I guess the router could be faulty. I'll just use the Mifi router in the meanwhile.

Where can I find the stock firmware of Huawei B535-932 ?

Hmmm no signal when forcing 4G? Might be hardware failure. Especially since you say the same Sim works in another modem. Perhaps take back and make them test it.

You may be right, i'll just send it back to takealot.

Evening

I have the same issue, also bought from Takealot. The router B535 connect to 4G with any other sim card, but when I put in the Telkom sim it only connects to 3G.

Anyone with help on this?

Check the APN.
Connect to another APN in the Router by switching it to "default" APN.
Go through them until you get the correct one.

Thank but it didn’t work, on all APNs still connects on 3G

Hey guys, I see that you've bought the Huawei B535-932 from Takealot. May I please know what bands this router supports? I would like to get one for Rain and use it for Telkom as well. I'm getting mixed results through online searches and thought I'd ask you guys since it might be written on the box/manual/software that you have as it is not in Takealot's description.

This might also directly relate to the issues you are experiencing, I noticed that some variants don't support bands over B38, If I'm correct Telkom also uses bands B1 B3 and B40. Maybe this is why you are having problems as the router might not support B40?

Please check the supported bands and let me know what they are as well.

Not a bands problem. Mine is awesome on any frequency I use.

Unsure what the origin is. I got it through my ISP.
I stumbled on an older picture of your router settings on another thread, It seems that you do have band 40 (2300MHz)

Yep. I've got 2100Mhz as well after a firmware update a few months ago.
My Telkom SIM connects on all 3.
