Hey peeps, I have this strange issue with my Huawei CP B593 router and a CellC sim which i got with their recent 100Gb for R100 promotion.
So the sim works fine on all of my other modems, 8TA and Vodacom 3G dongle, but as soon as I insert it into the router, the mode indicator stays red, indicating that the modem cannot connect to a wireless network or modem is not a wireless network. There is nothing wrong with the router as I can connect with my Telkom Mobile and Vodacom sim.

Anyone know what is happening please since the CellC technical support at the walk-in centre went to go look for answers on Google when I explained my issue....

You should try and log into the router, and look at the different diagnostic screen to figure it out. May just be that Cell C don't have any/good 4G/LTE signal in our area.

Your modem may also not be compatible with Cell C. AFAIK, if you are using one that Telkom sold a while ago, then it should not work, as Telkom uses TDD, whereas Vodacom, MTN, Cell C & Neotel use FDD. These routers look the same, but are actually sub models.

I can see VC, MTN & Neotel LTE signals, but have never seen Cell C or Telkom LTE signals on my FDD modem. Wait, isn't Telkom trying to buy Cell C?

No, it is expected. The recently available model is B593-601. It fully support Vodacom, Telkom and MTN, but doesn't support LTE Cell C frequency. In addition router is probably configured LTE-only (most of us do it), it is why it can't find the network. OP didn't mention specifically whether router comes from Cell C shop. If does, then it can be SIM provisioning problem.
