Hi Guys
I am having a problem with Huawei E220 modems on Mac computers. I have three of these in the family and all three have stopped working at different times. It seems as if the Vodacom software crashes and then the application has to be forced to quit. After formatting the one machine and reinstalling the Mac OS (two machines are running the Leopard software and one is running Tiger) everything seems to be fine again. I would hate to format the other two machines as well and am not sure how long it would work now in any case.
I would really appeciate any help on this.

When the Software crashes again, just slap in the disc, run the installer and select uninstall from the menu, then after thats done re-install it again.

It seems to be a solution to this particular problem.

Have you updated the firmware and software to the latest versions?

Its not a firmware issue, its the Mac Dashboard that crashes on startup after a while. It just keeps bouncing on the Mac Application Bar thingy.

A workaround to it is by disabling the PIN from the SIM and just plugging in the modem. You can then bypass the dashboard and connect directly. You do however had to have setup the Dashboard and connection initially.

Thanks very much! I'll try that this evening and let you know how it turns out.
Take care
