I bought an MTN prepaid SIM today and provisioned it for Afrihost.
I've done this with a few SIMs before and never had issues until now;
No matter what I try and do in any phone or modem - if I change the APN to Afrihost within 30-seconds or so the devices switch-back to MTN GPRS (default) APN and try to connect to MTN data. I've even set the modem to manual, selected Afrihost as the APN and selected SAVE. It goes back to the main menu - and its suddenly switched back to MTN GPRS as the default.
I put the SIM into a Nokia phone from the Huawei modem, created a new default APN and it shows the APN as default and says "Connecting..." a few seconds later it says "Connected" and when i check settings its connected to APN MTN GPRS (default) ??
Am I missing something here? The SIM has been provisioned for Afrihost but I don't know if maybe because its the same day something at MTN has not triggered to stop it forcing the APN on the SIM?
