Yes it does. I have tested this on a couple of cards, and I can confirm you need the updated firmware for the USSD commands to work properly.

Guys,

Essentially what we going to do is ginggs and Huawei have got a fix for the USSD commands which we can put onto the normal upgrade when you update open the Huawei MTN UI and it comes up with the update you just click update and you'll essentially be able to make use of the USSD commands

ginggs if you can please send me part 1, 2 and 3 again I'll have my device manager put it up ASAP

Huawei E620 Firmware Upgrade

Hi can anyone please tell me where I can get hold of the latest firmware to my E620 card. I have had a look on their website and no luck. Also tried the generic software and no luck with that.

We're working on it but in the meantime whatever firmware is available we'll ensure that it's uploaded onto the update of the E620 MTN UI

Firmware Upgrade - E620

The reason for the firmware upgrade is that I would like to use the ussd commands on the Huawei Companion Software supplied by GINGGS.

Why is it so hard to get hold of the new firmware?

I think we all would like to be able to use the ussd command on the MTN software. When can we expect availability of something of this sort?

As the firmware becomes available it will be on the MTN UI under the upgrade option, The firmware version given out by Huawei to Ginggs still had some problems in terms of the information given to the MSC so as soon as the Firmware version which will allow the USSD commands is ready I can assure you we'll make it available, we are not in the business of delaying things further than we have to so I can assure you we are working on making this feature available to you guys and gals

I must be honest kinda left this went I went on leave and now Jeremy my device manager has gone on leave but I'll try and see if I can ask huawei to check and advise ASAP

No news from huwaei I presume? Is the latest firmware that which was shipped with the cards before June 2006?

We were suppose to have a meeting today which was cancelled - There are a couple of issues I needed to raise e.g. so will have to raise this with them when we reschedule along with the above

• USSD Commands for E620 - Confirmed working with new firmware
• USSD Commands for E220 - Not reliable on current firmware
• Firmware availability - Firmware upgrades should be freely available to customers, or at the very least from MTN service centres, at no charge
• Vista 32-bit drivers - These shouldn't still be in Beta
• Vista 64-bit drivers - When will these be available?
• Data counters for E620 - Data counters are in inaccurate after a connection is dropped due to bad signal or congestion
• E620 F@stlink Software – Data counters are not saved if user down or logs out while application is running.
