Huawei Mate 10 Pro - VoLTE

Dolby, I don't know if this is of any help to you. I have a mate 10 pro, vodacom branded. Although I have a Telkom SIM, I've had the option to turn on VoLTE. This since I got the device.

Mine is the same, so to speak. My telkom (which ironicaly is used as a data-only sim) has a toggle switch for VoLTE, my Cell C (sim 1 slot) sim which is my actual number that I use for making and receiving calls, has no such toggle switch.

Perhaps try switch the sims around? But if the phone does not have the Cell C firmware, then it is doubtful if Volte would work anyway. Telkom as far as I know does not have Volte at all regardless if the phone supports it or not.

I can now also confirm that Volte on Huawei supported phones for Vodacom (Vodafone) does not have the toggle. It is on by default and cant be turned off, therefore no toggle.

That would indicate a Vodacom issue and not a phone issue, I think?

It would seem so- I would guess it also means Cell does not support VoLTE (which is why only my one sim shows the toggle switch.

After two more network syncs this morning it is working. Got first SMS after first sync and rebooted. Still did not work. 30 minutes later got a second sms and rebooted again and now it is working! Yay!

But how do I do that, Ockie?

I ask with tears in my eyes :(

You've switched my profile months ago and, in that time, plenty of reboots. There must be something else? I phoned the Vodacom last night and they said I need a SIM swap.

Btw - am I able to activate a SIM to VoLTE myself without asking?

So, I've actually disabled VoLTE.

The drain on my battery was double standard ... and one reason I loved this phone, was the battery life. At this point yesterday I was at 20% with heavy usage. The last few weeks this time was around 35% at this time.

Today? 69%

Could have just switched it to 3G mode. :p

Doesn't all my data also go to 3G then?
